Dreadfully sorry, cousin dear, to be so late in reviewing here. I just noticed this last night before dinner and then my poor brain forgot about it. I'm supposed to be getting alerts when you post new stuff but for some unknown reason they do not work so I have to remember to check every few days, hoping of course - alas, so far in vain - for more you know what, but really for anything. So I was pleased to see this and told myself I had to remember to go back to it. I've only read The Silmarillion once - I've recently started my second time but haven't made it very far yet. So I don't recall this event which is true for the vast majority of the tales therein since it was years ago but of course the writing is splendid as always and I love the ending of the defiance and determination of Denethor to take as many with him as possible. How very different from that other of the same name. Do continue, my dear! But of course don't have my other hope get hollow... :)
