This is so interesting and unlike any other story I have every read. Great job. (I always have cardinals in my back year, both male and female.) Author Reply: Glad you found this interesting. I was quite surprised at the tale. Had a good time writing it too. Very glad you enjoyed it. Blessings.

An unusual story and very moving. Great idea well told. Thank you. Author Reply: I'm so very glad this little tale moved you. I was paying it forward to a friend who had always sustained me. The idea was unusual for me. Thank you!

*happy sigh* He made it! I loved this story - it grabbed me and relentlessly pulled me along with it - from hope, to despair, to resignation and through pain and fear to hope again. An absolute gem of an AU. Author Reply: Bless you! I am so very glad it touched you. Sorry about the pulling. I hope there were no rope burns *g* *happy sigh*

Through the mists in safety! Hooray! Even if he is among the Valar, he KNOWS he is safe! And the cardinals still sing for him! Author Reply: I wrote an epilogue to this to explain exactly what happened. It was too sad. I'm glad I left it like this. All scenarios are correct. Thanks ever so much for reading and leaving comments. They sustain me.

A good ending - to end in a new beginning. Author Reply: Yup! A new beginning. I was very glad, I'll tell you that! Thanks for reviewing and for your constant support. Most Appreciated.

What a wonderful ending/beginning. Not only the cardinals, but the sound of beloved horns welcomed him back. I enjoyed this very much. Author Reply: Thank you. I most enjoyed writing it. But the best part was to come full circle - to end up with the cardinals. Made my day, I'll tell you that. Bless you for your comments. They are appreciated.

Amd so Boromir made it through the mists alive. Yay! Great story, Agape, full of humor and bittersweetness and a happy ending. What more can anyone hope for? *grin* Thanks for posting this. It was a delight. Author Reply: *blushes* Thanks, Fiondil. Knowing you thought it was a great story makes my day! I'm delighted that you found this delightful. Bless you. Your support is neat!

So all the Elves are leaving save one. I hope he does not regret his decision, but at least in due time he will leave and rejoin his brother and their family in the West. Looking forward to the conclusion of this, Agape. It's been a real treat to read. Author Reply: Unlike Men, Gannellas can rejoin his loved ones in the West.... as long as he doesn't miss the boat. ROTFL Bless you. I'm so very happy to know you've enjoyed this. I did, too. Only one chapter left - chapter ten. Thanks for your kind words and support throughout this. PS - Legolaa isn't leaving yet.

The love involved in friendship is as great in its way as the love involved in romance. And I rejoice he finally has an instrument that fits him! Author Reply: I had this feeling Gannellas wasn't quite ready to leave Middle-earth. Now he has a companion - though he will definitely outlive Boromir. Love is awesome. Thank you for sharing a bit of yours via your comments. Most treasured from one of my favoritest authors.

I would spend the next few years away from Gondor. Let Faramir grow. Father never let him grow. It is the right thing to do. What a thoughtful, loving, and mature decision. How lovely to imagine Boromir and an Elf traveling through Middle-earth, without all the cares and burdens they've known before. Perhaps they'll even visit the Shire before the King's ban is announced. Author Reply: Boromir had quite a bit of solitary time to contemplate his future. And playing an instrument, IMHO, gives one even more time to think. I got the impression that Gannellas and Boromir realized they were kindred spirits - Boromir as Gondor's Captain-general and Gannellas as leader of the Edhellond community. Care-worn and burdened - but now free. My friend, Eru-willing, will have a birthday next year. I'm sure the Shire will play an important part in their travels. Sequal! Bless you for your kind words throughout the telling of this tale. I so look forward to reading and rejoicing at your next take!
