Warriors Proud  by Ellie 3 Review(s)

I loved the ceremony. It's funny to think how Haldir and his friends are creating things that they learnt from their ancestors. *g*

Author Reply: Thank you on the ceremony :-) I had fun trying to figure out the meaning behind the different parts of the ceremony when Fiondil had no clear meaning in mind when he came up with the ceremony other than to make it seem distasteful and barbaric in the eyes of elves from Aman.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

The whole ceremony is very nicely described, I like it. :)

Author Reply: Thanks! The real trick was figuring out what the meaning and symbolism were behind each of the parts of the ceremony when Fiondil didn't know even though he made up the ceremony. Fortunately I had good literature teachers in school and can find symbolic meaning in just about anything. LOL!

And so he has instituted the very traditions by which he was initiated as a warrior! Excellent!

Author Reply: Well, after getting so upset and defensive about the braids, Hal and company had to give them to others. I don't think he intended to start the tradition but he did just that in the very act of perpetuating it.
