Oh, this was very funny! I like Ranger stories, especially when they feature Halbarad who isn't given enough screen time in fanfic. :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you liked this. Look out for more Ranger stories as I wrote several for BTME.

Oh, but last week I would have done anything to get into an ice house, I think! We had our one heat wave then, and now it's gone with temps back down into the sixties again. (Fahrenheit, that is.) Love how you worked the prompts into it.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed this story.I based the ice house on one I've seen in the ruins of a local stately home.I don;t like it hotter than the sixties!

Very timely! It's very very hot here, and I can appreciate the Rangers' 'joyous amazement'.

Another of your B2MeM which I enjoyed very much indeed both times I read it. You captured very well the atmosphere of a hot day in summer, and how delicious sipping a cold drink is then. I'm glad Aragorn, Halbarad and Gilavir had such a break and the opportunity of for once letting down their guard, relaxing and enjoying one. A very vivid vignette.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed this story enough to reread. The Rangers deserve a break.

What a neat combination of elements! I love the way you got Aegnor/Andreth in! I still need to deal with that pairing.

Glad to see you still working on B2MeM. I have several half-written stories on my computer I need to finish!

I like realistic casualness of this particular vignette: three friends sitting around on a hot afternoon talking, the disapproving passersby, and the fun and unexpected cold drink at the end!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed this story.I actually wrote this back in March and have just been polishing it, thinking I ought to post it in August! I admit I had to look up who Aegnor/Andreth were! That was a tough card, but I learned a lot from it and won 1st place! Good luck with your stories!
