Oh, boy. Lothiriel is getting deeper and deeper into trouble. Eomer will find out... and then she will be truly caught. Now on to read the next chapters of this charade.

Author Reply: Yes, this Lothiriel is a great digger of holes for herself ;-)

Well, she's in trouble now!

I love the details of Rohan vs. Gondor that you put in this chapter. It is quite delightful. Especially the cost of the dress. Nicely done!

Author Reply: I always enjoy playing with the cultural differences between Rohan and Gondor, glad to hear you liked that. And the silk will actually make a come-back in a later chapter.

She's just digging herself a deeper and deeper hole! I love it! :) Looking forward to the next installment... thanks for sharing your story with us.

Author Reply: Hi Radbooks,
yes, she's certainly digging very hard! Not a nice situation to be in, but I have to admit I like watching my characters struggle ;-)

Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to decieve!

Truer words were never spoken!

Author Reply: How very true! And of course it will get worse before it gets better.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this story! Love how you're writing Lotheriel - she's seen so much, but is still very much ignorant of the way life works (he'd forget you? riiiight...). The combination of innocence and bravado to think that she could pull this off is both charming and tremendously amusing. She's definitely resourceful - inventing a look-alike illegitimate half sister on the fly?!? Can't wait to see how this unfolds!

Author Reply: Hello Lyana,
resourceful is certainly a good description for Lothiriel! Or maybe the mead gave wings to her imagination... ;-) And I agree with your about her innocence/naivety and of course she hasn't taken Eomer's measure at all.

More next week!

Well, she's certainly painted herself into a corner, hasn't she? She's obviously never learned that the more one lies the harder it is to sustain those lies, as eventually the discrepancies will come out. Now, to see how she handles this silliness!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
Lothiriel will of course eventually discover the truth of your statement, but perhaps not for a while yet. I have to admit I like stories where the characters dig themselves into a hole! Last time it was Eomer, now it's Lothiriel's turn...

You know what struck me most about this enjoyable chapter? How much you've slipped into Eomer's mindset.

He's a practical man, wanting to know how the fountain works. He's been "inspecting" prospective wives. He's "hunting." All of this is just so dead on and so good at creating Eomer without ever saying something direct. It's just wonderfully done.

Author Reply: Hello Daw,
nice hearing from you again! And I'm pleased that you like my characterization of Eomer. Although to be honest I don't really consciously set out to paint him as practical or down to earth, the hunting and other details just pop into my mind!
