Congrats on your daughter. I am loving this story. I am not a writer, except for one poem, but I played about with exactly the same concept years ago! Yours is so, so much better than anything I could have come up with. Excitedly waiting to read the rest.

Aha! So, that was what caused the avalanche, eh? He knows how dangerous the play of the stone giants can be! And love the memory of the Dwarves' song.

I've just caught this story up and liked it a lot. We get some interesting insights into Bilbo's character and the growth of his connections to Aragorn and the elves at Imladris as well. Really glad you're working on this and very curious to see where it goes next. Thanks for your hard work on it.

Stone giants. They were asleep now.

Oh my! Bilbo certainly wouldn't want anything to wake them. I'm enjoying this story so much. Our dear hobbit has certainly learned quite a bit in his travels.

I am so enjoying this! Elrond and Bilbo, out and about to save the day! And I love scruffy-Ranger Aragorn...probably my favorite Aragorn... ;-)

Thanks for writing!

A hot summer afternoon, just looking for something entertaining and what do I find?

This was fun, a little adventure for two! The little boy dreaming fantasy dreams (could just as easily have been a girl in our time) and the adventure which leads to danger. So nice to see a good ending with happy parent, happy hobbit and yes, happy Elf lord. That "kind like a summer evening", while making the rounds lately, is always welcome when done right.

This was done right.

Thank you!

He did learn a great deal through both experience and observation while he traveled with Thorin and company. Excellent! At least he knew what to start with!

Hooray, I'm so glad you're able to continue this. Bilbo's proved his resilience and loyalty to his friends over and over, and it's wonderful to see Elrond giving him such respect and trust.

Oh, no. Caught in an avalanche. I just hope they came on time. I could picture the scene at the foot of the avalanche in my head. You paint a great picture.

I love the little scene in Estel's room. I wonder who fixed the toy horse. Elrond himself? I just hope nothing happened to Aragorn.
