Desiring the Downfall  by Larner 3 Review(s)

Sly as a fox. One way to trick Sauron. Nicely done!

Author Reply: Oh, yes, a good way to cheat Sauron of his intended destruction of Sohrabi's character, and hopefully to deprive him of the strength he drew from the deaths of such sacrifices.

Oh, I remember An’Sohrabi telling Aragorn about this. Yes, he did wisely in making Sauron's priest believe he was a dutiful believer while all the while making sure that he did not fall into their traps.

Author Reply: I think that being forced to take part in such atrocities and finding ways to turn them from the corrupting experiences they were intended to be must have taken a good deal of determination and forethought. And I doubt he would wish that Sauron could actually receive any benefits from the death of this pervert. Thanks so, Fiondil!

Many thanks! Lesser Rings is one of my favorite stories, and these small glimpses into that part of your story are greatly appriciated. It's always good to see how decent people did their best to thrart Sauron and his followers through the ages! I look forward to further vignettes set in this part of the lands, and perhaps others from the other lands that build ties to Gondor during Aragorn's reign. Perhaps a visit to Rhun or Camloa........ or Harad and Far Harad (strongly hints) :)

Author Reply: It would be hard to thwart Sauron, but I do believe all decent people would wish at least to try to do so. And I am enjoying revisiting Harad as I've envisioned it again. Just maybe we shall visit Camaloa again one day, although I swear I have to finish "Stirring Rings" first!
