Oaths of Allegiance  by Linda Hoyland 6 Review(s)

It was good to read this once again. And I love how the last two promises of the Lord receiving the oath have been reversed, so that the greatest importance is that fealty will be met with love.

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed re-reading and the revised oath.

Oh, thank you so very much, Linda! I am thrilled! Oh, yes, this day he received the honor he ought to have received so many years ago, and openly displayed for all to see. How different his place now than it was then! And I rejoice that Aragorn descended from the throne to meet Faramir on his own ground, as it were. And the thoughtfulness of the cushion shows so much of the new King's character as well as the care he offers those who swear fealty with him!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed this story and my vision of these two very special men.

Awwwww.

Very touching story; one that made me smile very widely at the end. Faramir is truly coming into his own; though at a tragic cost.

So beautiful. I couldn't stop grinning as I read the second half of this Linda. I really couldn't. It's such a shame Faramir's father couldn't see the wonderful man his youngest son truly was. Always makes me sad. You captured the sorrow and longing Faramir must have always felt beautifully

I loved that Eowyn was in nearly the exact place Boromir had been years later. Sweet little detail.

The Steward knew, though, that there were many within the Realm whose first loyalties were to the House of Húrin. It was important that they see that he freely swore fealty to his new lord.

So wise! I love the ending of this story. Faramir's heart needed to heal as surely as his body did.

A very interesting look at two pivotal moments in Faramir's life and the difference in which his oaths were received by Denethor and Aragorn. Well done, Linda. I enjoyed this very much.
