I love this. Need I say more? Yes. It is spectacularly funny. The poor Man never could find his way. 110 days indeed. 10 days trying to find his room at the Prancing Pony. ROTFL I was so happy to see it. I put a little notation on one of my replies to your blog comment. I agree with 6336 - it would be delightful to 'see' Boromir's face at Rivendell. And Sam's. Perfectly written. Dearest Sam, befuddled Boromir, and swords.

I enjoyed that very much. What an unexpected occurrence... for all of them!

You can't see it, but I have a big grin on my face. What a delightful way to start the morning! I love the recurring of the phrase "sleeping in ditches" -- so perfectly descriptive. I can imagine Boromir would look travel-worn, considering the little bit I know about his journey to the North. Sam is perfect here: fierce, protective, ready to bluff if need be, and yet brave enough to back up his threat, even in hopeless cause ("He'd jump down a dragon's throat for his master...") Maybe this was an "all things are possible" challenge, but you certainly surpass that and make this scenario plausible as well.

Oh, chuckle, that was good. I would have loved to have seen Boromir's face when he turned up in Rivendell and saw who he would be questing with. Though it does seem a pity that he did not join them on their trek to Rivendell, an extra swordsman might have made a lot of difference. Lynda
