That was lovely, so warm and cuddly somehow. Do write some more about Estel! Author Reply: First, apologies for not replying to this! I think the site's been having some issues for a while... I never got a notice for it. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I do have another "Little Estel" story, a double drabble posted in my "Sons of Forgotten Kings" collection, the chapter called "Forty-Eleven". I enjoy writing Aragorn when he was little, so I'll very likely do more at some point. Thanks for reading!

Aww, what a sweet and lovely Mettarė tale! I think it's difficult to write child!Estel well and not overdo it on the cuteness, but you found the perfect amount and tone for it, also showing the character of the man we later know so well through these glimpses. Your OFC is well-rounded and convincing, and Elladan as big brother done in the same way as Estel: just the right amount of everything necessary to make it real and enjoyable, while staying delightfully in character. And best of all: a cat! *g* Author Reply: Thank you, Winterwitch! So glad you enjoyed this little tale. I do try to keep the treacle at bay when I write little Estel...it's so easy to make him *too* cute and *too* precocious and *too* perfect, when at that age I imagine him to be pretty much like any toddler, though not without glimpses of perhaps greater sensitivity and the like. And by naming the new kitten the same as the old, apparently he's already showing a love of tradition! *g*

Oh, this is cute as a bug's ear! I loved pouting Estel and the fact that Elladan now obviously cherishes him. I enjoyed seeing it all through Laeranor's eyes---she who has such a crush on Elladan would certainly notice every detail, and that makes it all the better. Wonderful story! Author Reply: Thanks, Lily! I love a good piece of Aragorn fluff for Christmas! Elladan's really done a turnaround in my universe from those first days after Arathorn's death. Lifelong bonding going on there. :) And poor Laeranor... she doesn't really have a hope but, yes, she no doubt cherishes every little detail about her crush. Thanks for reading!

Oh, this is so sweet! You sure do know how to bring in the emotions, starting out so heartbreaking, feeling sorry for poor little Estel, and then making me laugh out loud by the end. (And I loved "Feffers" - reminded me of a little girl I watch, who called one of her stuffed animals "Farkles" because she couldn't pronounce "Sparkles." ;D) Thank you for a lovely read! Now I have the urge to go back and re-read a bunch of your other stories (yet again... *g*). Author Reply: Thanks, Imbecamiel! So glad you enjoyed it... I like engaging as many emotions as I can with my stories and sounds like I hit all of them for you. :) And hee, have fun re-reading. Hopefully in the coming year I can be a little more regular about presenting new stuff so you're not stuck with reruns. *g* I love the Farkles story!

Heheh, so I'm a little slow, didn't catch on immediately that "Feffers" was wee!Estel's way of saying Feathers. Awwwwwwwwwww ... that's just so ADORABLE!!! Love this very, very much. Merry X-mas, dear Cairi! Author Reply: Thanks, layne! So glad you enjoyed it (even through the little bit of confusion)! I hope you also had a very merry Christmas, and thanks for making my story a part of it!

A warming little tale for a cold day! Elladan and Laeranor were so nicely fleshed out in so short a space. I foresee many generations of Feffers to follow this one! Author Reply: Thank you, Kitt Otter! So glad you enjoyed this. I think you're right--Feffers might be a name that endures through many generations of cats. :) Thanks for reading!

Finally got a chance to read this (when I should be working on the priorities in my workflow). Nice and fluffy (or is that feathery?). I loved seeing this from Laeranor's POV. Elladan is turning into a good big brother for Estel. Hope Laeranor finds someone more suitable to love. I'm afraid Elladan is too high above her, but for now at least she can join in on the fun with him and Estel. Author Reply: Oh dear, I hope your boss didn't see! I'm so glad you liked this, Fiondil. Poor Laeranor, she likely does have her sights set far too high. I do wonder, though, how many lowly Elven maids sighed hopelessly any time either of the Twins walked by. *g* Thanks for risking your job by reading this, Fiondil, and thank you for your kind words!

Just the right comfort for such a loss. And trust such a small child to give the name of the lost pet to the new one! Author Reply: Thank you, Larner! Little ones have their own version of logic sometimes. I imagine Elladan had a startling vision of a grown Estel naming all his sons the same thing. (Shades of "This is my brother, Darrell, and my other brother, Darrell", from the old Bob Newhart show!)

Ooh this made me smile! And also ache just a little....little Estel so heartbroken over poor Feffers, and how it reminds the adults of all the other griefs in his short life....such a sweet and poignant view of what Estel and Elladan were having to come to terms with. If you get a chance, tell Laerenor not to give up hope! I suspect she may have not been the only one paying attention in the last 50 years.... Author Reply: Thanks, Everleigh! So glad you liked this little one-shot. I imagine poor little Estel was much more easily rocked by additional losses than a child who hadn't gone through trauma he had experienced. Lots of hugs were definitely needed! And I will definitely pass along your encouragement to Laerenor. :D Who knows where her story will lead (which is me saying that *I* don't know yet! LOL) Thanks for reading!
