To Rescue a Damsel  by Lindelea 5 Review(s)

Oh, I remember when at the age of seven I was planning to run away. I had the doll's suitcase packed, but nothing for myself. I was certain I'd meet somone who'd take me in and provide for me, but I'd have to provide for my doll, of course. Child's logic is always interesting!

Author Reply: Yes, children's brains seem to be quite differently wired, at least the logic circuits.

Thanks!

I really liked this chapter.

Faramir is acting so grown-up here. He also knows the mind of a runaway so, hopefully, he can keep her from taking off or he can show her that it's not in her best interests to try to run to Gondor.

I think I had a lot more thought out to say this morning but now, after a long day, I've forgot it.

Glad to see this one continuing.

Author Reply: Since he has run away himself, and seen terrible repercussions (and almost really horrible repercussions), he knows caution. He also knows Goldi well, and has a great deal of respect for her stubbornness.

Thanks!

I see that Faramir has inherited the 'sight' that Pippin demonstrated more than once on the Quest. He's a clever lad. This should be interesting! :)

Author Reply: It seemed plausible to me that Farry might have that Tookish trait. I certainly hope it is interesting! When I told Dinossiel the plot outline, she laughed, so that's a good sign.

Thanks!

Imagine, a hobbit setting off with no food in the middle of a storm! Good thing Farry was able to stop her, he seems quite wise for his age. I wonder how he's going to keep her from running away? Guess I'll have to wait a see.

Author Reply: Only an upset, determined 11-year-old, I suppose. I remember one of my brothers running away from home some time in the afternoon and changing his mind right about dinnertime...

Well, would you believe he's going to keep her from running away by helping her run away? Sometimes help is all you can offer in order to maintain some kind of control over a situation...

Author Reply: (or was that too much of a spoiler? aargh. sorry, if that's the case. but there is still a lot more to the plot than that little point...)

Oh Faramir! You are a conniver worthy of your Uncle Merry and your father put together!

Author Reply: Absolutely! He has had both of their examples to learn from, not to mention his Uncle Ferdi as well.

Thanks!
