Carefully, Pippin took his sleepy, young daughter from Diamond’s arms. He held her so that he could look into her face.

“You share your birthday with the two best hobbits to ever grace Middle Earth. I’m sure they would be proud of you and would wish you all the joy that life can bring.

What a lovely blessing.

Author Reply: Glad you liked it. I think he was totally thrilled that his little lass shared her birthday with Frodo and Bilbo. He owed a lot of who he became to them.

Glad to see you back and reviewing again. :)

And one more child Frodo would have loved holding in his arms is born in his former home, one more to honor his memory.

Author Reply: Definitely. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I find the reviews of my stories to be one of the bright spots in my life.

What a sweet chapter! We know that Sam kept up Frodo's custom of observing The Birthday--and I think that it would have been as you said: close friends and family.

I too like to think Frodo manages to know how his friends are faring--in my 'verse, he does so with dreams, and also with the Seeing Stone that was taken West. But I like your idea that he can "talk" to Pippin sometimes, mind-to-mind.

Really nicely done, dear!

Author Reply: :) I'm grinning ear to ear. Your complements make me blush. I'm glad you liked my concept that, on rare occasions, Pippin can sense Frodo's presence.

I always figured that the Travellers kept up the tradition of the Birthday. I can't see just Sam celebrating it.

Hope I can live up to your hope in chapters to come.
