I loved this on LJ and I love it here too. Just wanted to let you know that I read it again tonight and I like Bilbo's POV on this. I like thinking of the Fell Winter and what it must have been like. *shiver* And I enjoy seeing Bilbo as a young hobbit. Great story. More please?

Lovely picture! ...to be indoors around the hearth with family and tea. I can think of much worse places to be. I love Bilbo's ruminations on age and longevity, and the light-hearted ending. Very much my way of thinking: When the cup's empty, it's pretty clear what's needing done.

Welcome back! I've heard 'double drabbles' referred to as droubles. :) Author Reply: Ah, thanks for the info! It HAS been a while, I was trying forever to figure out the attached email and password- and while email was somewhat recently updated owing to leaving reviews in a few random places, the password is one I haven't used since high school! Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome back, Speedy! It's good to see you here again! What a nice cozy vignette of Bilbo and his cousins! Yes, there is such a thing as a double drabble, sometimes called a drouble. Up to four hundred words, you can have a drabble (100), double drabble (drouble), triple drabble (tribble) and beyond that it's just a ficlet, though if it has an exact pre-determined word count, it can be a fixed-length-ficlet. Or you can have a set or series of drabbles of unlimited length, as long as each section is exactly 100 words. I hope you won't be a stranger now! You've been missed. Author Reply: I'll try not to be! We shall see where the muse leads. Lately, it's been for Dungeons and Dragons/LARPing with friends and original fiction. [= Must say, Tolkien's definitely had a heavy influence though! Thanks fro the information on droubles and tribbles and the warm welcome. I'm even posting on Livejournal again, scarily enough, a place I generally associate with my adolescence!
