Definitely the right sentiment for the moment! How wonderful it must have felt, knowing that now Morgoth's lieutenant was also defeated! Author Reply: Indeed! Thanks for reading!

Oh, how beautiful a moment as, briefly, those fleeing the Black Riders find rest, and with such a guardian! Love the deer. Author Reply: It's the little details sometimes, right? ;) Thanks for reading

Every time I think of ants any more it is the story of Arthur in the ant colony from T.H. White's "Book of Merlin" that I'm reminded of. "Oh, there's that Mammy, mammy, mammy song again!" Author Reply: LOL! Thanks for reading!

A welcome drink on such a day, although I agree with Lindelea in thinking Glorfindel's combination sounds better. Author Reply: Definitely. But Erestor just has a flair for the bitter, you know. ;P Thanks for reading!

Wonderful! I adore this series. You write with such care, and in the exact way I imagine he felt about Estel. I've always wished there was more Glorfindel and Estel fic in general, to the point where my subconscious got in on it. I once had a dream that Glorfindel was badly wounded while out with a very young Estel. And Estel, having seen his father use athelas in the past, figured he could try it. Untrained and small, he nearly killed himself healing Glorfindel but it nevertheless impressed/horrified the few who knew him to have "the hands of a king." Sounds like a fanfic -- I searched around for years because I figured I *had* read it, but, nope! Anyway, looking forward to reading more! Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad you are enjoying it! And that DOES sound like a great idea for a fanfic! :) I'm actually working on the opposite, where very young Estel gets hurt while the two are out on an outing and has to deal with the guilt of letting the boy come to harm. I'll be posting that one soon. :) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

That was most beautiful! I can almost imagine GLorfindel's emotions as he realized that they had finally defeated that evil they had been fighting for ages, from Master to servant. "That day, they had not won. That day, there had been tears unnumbered. Yet, the cry felt right." In so few simple words, you manage to juxtapose that uplifting hope, and heartbreaking defeat, of the Eldar in that long ago battle, with the victory of Middle Earth wrought thru the painful toil of two hoobits. Thank you for a beautiful story. I'm so looking forward to that long story about Glorfindel. Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :) I'm actually working on a shorter story with Glorfindel at the moment, but it feeds into where I'm going with the longer backstory. Thanks so much for reading!

This is very gentle and thoughtful. It's these little moments that often show us best a person's mind and heart. Author Reply: Thank you!

Oh this is delightful! Full circle has come the lesson and, while Glofindel may not think of himself as much more than a warrior and strategist, he also is a good teacher. I really loved the image of him lying in the sun, ants on his arm, watching them moving to and fro and a little Estel sitting close by for the lessons on being a Man and a King. :) Author Reply: Thank you!

A bitter sweet venue. I imagine that Estel learned many things from Glorfindel over the years of his growing to an adult. And probably beyond. I liked how you showed that not all knowledge is learned in books and that much can be taken from nature. Author Reply: Yes, I imagine that given Estel's heritage, he would have learned much from Glorfindel, and I can't help but think elves especially learn from the world around them.
