Plus, being suspended in that manner would eventually lead to him suffocating do to the increased difficulty just to breathe. I hope he is found soon!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I hope he is found soon too before he suffocates!

OMG, what a thrilling start to your new story. I like it a lot. Poor Faramir. He is such a gentle soul. I shudder him amongst such ruffians. Aragorn will be furious when he finds out. I hope he will come in time to help his friend. Canīt wait for the next chapter. Rally good start, Linda. Lai

Oh, my goodness! What a breath-taking, terrifying start to what promises to be quite a long tale. I have been enjoying your several recent short posts. But this one promises to be a nail-biter! Ithilien in the years right after the war seems to be a setting for many possible tales like this. We have farms and homesteads being slowly wrested back from land that had become wild and dangerous before the war. This becomes a very plausible tale. Add Faramir's distraction over the treaty, to the thought that the lands were surely becoming safer. I do believe this could happen, even to a no longer active Ranger! "Safe this close to home..." Hmm. THAT might be what saves his beaten, bleeding self from attracting wild animals, developing infection, the list is endless. He does not come back for breakfast, and the anxious wife sets out with a guard or two and his other horse. In hindsight, it is a mercy he did not lose Glamdring. I wonder, though, how easy a time the two might have trying to fence any of that stuff. Surely many people both in the city and in Ithilien would have seen him wearing the clothes and ornaments. His horse and sword would be pretty well known, as well. Plus, the horse is an intelligent creature in her own right. I suspect they would have to be quite brutal to force co-operation out of her. I have heard of dogs who "testified" against their owner's attackers when law enforcement observed their reactions to being around the suspects. I'll bet a smart horse could, too. Ah, yes, "arandur". Shades of political protest overtones, too. Time to start obsessively checking my mail!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated reviews. I would guess the story will have at least 10 chapters and most of it exists in draft form. I'm pleased you are finding it plausible.

Eowyn will certainly be alarmed that her husband does not come to breakfast.

Iavas is a horse from Rohan.

I always imagine there would be lawless men wandering around after the Ring war, as I show too in Hunter and Hunted.
