TolkienScribe's Scribblings  by TolkienScribe 34 Review(s)

As much as this is interesting, isn't Éowyn in Rohan the day after midsummer according to Tolkien? However, I do see why you wrote the scenario. I guess I will just have to adjust to when Arwen (and Glorfindel and Elrond) first come to Edoras on the way to Gondor.

Why has nobody reviewed this? It is rather humorous, especially Faramir tapping his beard bringing to mind film Aragorn doing the same to tell Éowyn. And Amrothos being vain, of course.

Good reason for why he stayed. And if you remember he did actually send for Elfhelm or Éomer, and even Elfhelm might have sent for Éomer too...

But did Éomer ever actually come...well, with Théoden going from Helm's Deep to Isengard I guess, but before that there had been a second battle, and Gandalf had ordered a eorot to be built. But was that a mound? Was Théodred there? The most important question is A) What exactly did Théodred mean?, and B) Where was he buried? If we consider that only the kings were buried on the road to Edoras, and that the sons of Folcwine who were killed in Gondor had a mound there, then Théodred's mound could potentially be at the Fords, but then, the movie has him on the road to Edoras, which though is probably wrong, is memorable and well known...

At least Théodred and Boromir made the last right choice and now they can meet each other in peace...and comment on the rest of the action while eating popcorn if they wish, Lol. Though they probably won't. I could see them teasing certain actions though...

Wow...interesting to see this version, when other versions I have read include such as he saved the cloak in a chest in his room, or Imrahil took it back, or servants stored it somewhere, unknown to Denethor.

There's so much tragedy in Elrond's life. I hope that he, too, finds healing in the West.

What a creative idea for a story! I never thought about the Elves' reaction to meeting Eowyn.

Author Reply: Thank you, it is something I often imagined and in different ways. I intend to try all of them. :)

She treasured each day, made memories by the hour.

That's lovely.

Author Reply: We all seem to do the same with our loved ones.

the audacity to sing about the shortcomings of the Elven King of Greenwood in his presence

I do love audacious hobbits!

Author Reply: Hahaha, one of the things that definitely drew me to Hobbits.

It's a treat to imagine Frodo giving wisdom to the King, and Aragorn listening so respectfully.

Author Reply: This was a difficult one to write. I did not want Frodo to sound too patronizing, or Aragorn too prideful.

Glad you enjoyed it. :)
