| I love this story!! So wonderful to see Hamfast as a child and an excited and happy one. I wonder what turned him into the Gaffer who I don't really like for being mean to his youngest son (though I'm sure his son doesn't really think he is demeaning to him but he is). | Except for the wizard he’d not seen any other Big Folk in his life, and hadn’t never planned to, but now Mr. Bilbo was saying that the Outside was full of them! How about that? I love the thought of Ham before he became the Gaffer - there is a spark of Sam's curiosity there, however hard he tried to quell it as be got older! ;) Thank you for a most enjoyable story. It's delightful to imagine the Gaffer as a young hobbit. | |
