Beyond Imladris  by PSW 6 Review(s)

I know this is not a funny story, but this really did make me giggle...Glorfindel, now, knew how to scowl

This is a very enjoyable, original story with details one does not often think what would a hobbit town in the Breeland be like. And I am sure Scowler is a good sort, despite Estel being very uncertain about him

Author Reply: Good! It was meant to be a funny line. :-) Gotta have a few light-hearted bits...

Thanks so much for your comments, I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I was going for something a bit different, and I'm glad that's working out!

Thanks for reading!

What a cliff hanging point to end on! Even knowing that everyone involved is good, but Estel doesn't know that, Darlo doesn't know that, nor does the Ranger. Nicely done.

Author Reply: one really knows what's going on. :-P We'll see what comes of this, now...

Thanks so much for reading and for your comments! :-)

I'm hoping meeting up with a Ranger is a good development, though who knows? Estel's uncertainty about him is a nice echo of what Frodo et al feel for Strider.

I don't think I've ever seen another fanfic that portrays a Hobbit town other than Bree. This was great fun to read. The work and play and general interactions feel real. I felt sorry for Estel though. It's no wonder he's anxious given how he has to rely on strangers.

Author Reply: As I was writing this, I was chuckling and thinking, 'Kiddo, give it a few years and it'll be you making people nervous in inns'... :-P

I had so much fun imaging Staddle! Back when I was determining where he would end up, I was looking up the Bree-land towns, and when I saw that Staddle was mainly a Hobbit settlement, I was like, yep that's definitely it! :-) I'm happy you liked it -- it was a good time, and I was pleased with the way it turned out.

Oh dear, the plot thickens! Estel is having quite the adventure indeed. At least the lad's belly is full, and he's learning about hobbits. Your description of the town is really great. And "The Dusty Mathom" love that name!

Author Reply: I don't know where that name came from -- it just popped into my head when I got there, and I was like, perfect! :-) I really enjoyed writing this chapter, it was a lot of fun to imagine it all! :-)

It was fun to get the new guy in there, too...let's see what happens... ;-)

A GOOD question, that, although poor Estel has no idea as to what the Man means by this. Heh! Poor kid--got some 'splainin' t'do, but no way to appreciate what it is that is hidden about him, much less why.

Author Reply: Right...unfortunately, no one has the whole story, and no one is likely to any time soon... We'll have to see how this works out... :-P

Uh oh! Or maybe, yay? I think this is a good development but I suppose it depends who Estel just accidentally met. Don't leave us hanging too long!

Author Reply: Maybe a bit of both. ;-) But we'll see...
