Equal Courtesies  by Larner 4 Review(s)
CalienReviewed Chapter: 1 on 6/7/2017
Hi, Larner!
By chance I discovered this website and I read this story... it's very nice! I don't speak english very well, but I'm trying to read your stories, because I saw that you wrote a lot of fanfiction "Frodo-centric" (I love Frodo!). At the moment, I'm particularly interested in "Second Mum", because it's about Frodo's childhood in Buckland; I hope to leave a review as soon as possible.
Still my compliments for "Equal Courtesies"!

Very nice!

I can understand Tom's astonishment when he saw how Frodo treated Sam.
But Frodo is right: Sam is his equal now after all he did for him and for the completion of the quest. Sam, however, will need much more time to feel comfortable in his new role.

Happy belated birthday to you :-)

Author Reply: Thank you so for the birthday wishes--it was a delightful day.

Yes, Sam finding himself Frodo's equal must have been in some ways a difficult transition. However, I am certain Frodo did all he could to help prepare Sam for the future foreseen for the gardener.

Again, thanks so, Andrea!

It seems appropriate that I am watching FOTR on tv as I write this. So sorry to hear about your health woes. Mine have been dental. I hope the back didn't get in the way of an enjoyable birthday.
Thank you for your present -great as always. I have just finished rereadiing 'Murder most foul' yet again. Thank you for continuing to share your talent with us as and when you can.
BTW. I have been wishing you a happy birthday for at least 12 years now. It doesn't seem that long.
Another BTW did the muse completely fail for the Tenant from Staddle? I remember it fondly.

Author Reply: Oh, the dental woes are forthcoming, I fear. It has been too long since I last saw a dentist! At least I now have dental insurance!

I'm glad you liked this one. I love imagining how Frodo would have tried to prepare Sam for the role he'd foreseen Sam would play in the Shire's future, and how he would try to honor this friend who'd done so much for him.

Yes, it's been just about that length of time I've been writing Tolkien fanfiction!

I've tried promising myself I'll finish "Stirring Rings" first, although somehow I don't seem to be moving forward with it fast at all!

This is so good. I do hope you keep writing the birthday mathoms.

It's seems that most authors are taking a break and have not finished their stories.

Author Reply: I am so sorry I am not getting all done in a timely manner, but I've been running on exhaustion for better than the last month. You see, my back went out a while back, and nothing has appeared capable of getting the muscles of my lower spine to relax and let it ease back into alignment. Finally I dusted off our equipment my husband bought many years ago to help his back, and it is at last making things better. Between my intense schedule of work with my clients and the back, I've been running primarily on sheer adrenaline. Hopefully with more proper sleep I'll be able to finish some of my work.

As you know, I write to the monthly challenges for the LOTR GenFic group, and I've even let THOSE slide--or almost so. I got an idea for the February challenge immediately, but it turned into another small nuzgul with ears on, and it now encompasses the challenges for both February and March, and possibly this month as well. Hopefully this will finish it!

One more chapter for "Enter the Ranger," and then hopefully back to "Stirring Rings" and then "Or Perchance"! Wish me luck!

So glad you enjoyed this one. It's been nagging at me for three months to get written down! Isn't that horrible?
