Beautiful! Nienna has found and comforted these two, along with two of Elrond's sons....

Their words seem to dance, sharp angles emerging only to be whisked away by breathy swirls of sound, rising and falling and seeming to wash over me like cool water, soothing and refreshing both.

I've never heard a more beautiful description of Elvish. What an exquisite story -- full of heartbreak, full of hope. Well done.

Author Reply: Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm glad the description of the language worked. I'd read that Sindarin has a lot of influence from Welsh, so I watched a few videos of Welsh speakers to try and get a sense of the sound.

I love this so very much. I've probably read it three times by now. I just love the way Tolkien's characters are seen and described thru the eyes of a total stranger, even an enemy, and how I can recognize them from his impressions alone (except perhaps, the son of Elrond: was that Elrohir?).

And of course I love the story and it's theme of hope, empathy, and kindness, even to one's enemies. I do hope you will write more stories here.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

Author Reply: Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm glad the characters were recognizable. (And, yes, I'd been thinking that was Elrohir...though if anyone wanted to argue it was Elladan, I wouldn't put up a fight.)

This is such a darkly beautiful story.
Your writing is exquisite - each word chosen like a jewel.
Easily the most lovely piece of fan fic...no just fiction I have ever read.
Go - write more - craft stories and songs. Thank you.

Author Reply: Wow...you are far too kind! Thank you for your very encouraging comments. It means a lot!
