This is such a wonderful story. You keep up the suspense so well. I always look to see if there is a new chapter. Thank you.

Another chapter! So happy about that. Very atmospheric with clear and v realistic description of a grim situation but it still feels hopeful. Will be checking back for more 😁

At Last! I read the first of this wonderful story so long ago. Its been bookmarked and I periodically checked it hoping the story was not abandoned. I really like your characters. Please keep writing it - I'm a fan.

Completely awesome. I am ready to read a lot more in this tale, so write faster.

Oh, my. Reading this engages all the senses: sight, sound, smell, touch - I can even imagine the taste of ashes in her mouth. It was the right thing for her to take on the orphans. And the reader knows who the wildman is, and the bear... It will be interesting when Maida finds out the truth down the road.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Lindelea! I'm so excited to show Maida and Beorn's developing relationship, and I hope you enjoy the journey as well. :)

I agree with the other reviewer. You have created gorgeous, poetic descriptions of the scene. I can almost smell the smoky, charred wood, almost feel the autumn damp. Hmmm. Her Father's name was Grimbold. Grimbold, Beorn, ---Grimbeorn. I think I may have a guess as to where this story might end! I will be following along, wherever you lead!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your comments! (And yes, this is an eventual romance between Maida and Beorn. Hopefully you like how it all comes out!)

You are a tease! Wonderful intro, but I want MORE!

Author Reply: Hah! Glad you liked it, and don't worry: I have the next update already written ;)

Gorgeously written. Evocative, drawing pictures with poetic prose. I look forward to reading more.
