| This is lovely, Ellyn! I quite love this type of elves-in-modern-day stories. I love how Maglor overcomes his own melancholy to comfort the old professor! | Ellynn! Loved this! I feel such sadness in Maglor and such sadness for Maglor. Swept up in a fate that was never of his choosing, doomed to walk apart from his fellow elves. Waiting through time for the end. So sad. At least there some solace in music and beauty. Thank you! Lovely. Stay Safe! MM Author Reply: Oh! I didn't think the story would have such an impact - I didn't have the feeling that I'm writing something very sad. I tried to go on with the atmosphere from the first story - to show that Maglor is happy with the life he has. He has music, he is travelling... | …"I want to know...everything"! You have sent so many things whizzing through my brain while reading this story! The first one was that the young-spirited professor sounded a bit like our irrepressible friend Peregrin, talking to Gandalf about all of the questions he would like to ask about the world. Another was, the twentieth century was indeed a time of much learning. But lest we break an arm patting our twentieth century selves on the back for our progress, every so often someone will uncover some artifact reminding us of old knowledge which we seem to have lost! Then, after the Breaking and renewal of the world, when all of Eru's children are reunited...Do not we all have a list of people whom we would like to meet in Heaven, or, indeed, on that day of resurrection and renewal? Professor Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, my incredibly strong, brave Great-Great-Grandmothers who were part of the 19th century western migration in America. Florence Nightingale, Madame Curie, Eleanor Roosevelt, and on and on. One thing I most enjoy about this world of Fan-Fiction is that here we can find the hope that such things are indeed real, and could happen someday. And by the way, anything else you care to write about Maglor and his life through the Modern World, I will gladly soak up. Author Reply: Huh, I'm afraid I'm going to disappoint you - Maglor is not in my plans right now. :) I wrote Lunatic idea and this one, and that's it. I'm deep in one novel that I've been writing for the past two months(fanfiction, of course, not original fiction), so almost all my writing thoughts are in that particular project. Yes, I do write an occasional little one shot story - and this one is the proof for that - but I am more focused on the novel. I'm not sure I'll write about Maglor soon.
