Perelleth - I feel so much joy to see a new(ish) story from you, although I’m discovering it late. Still, I hope this reaches you. I am re-reading LotR now with my nephew and it reminded me of the fanfiction stories that expanded on my love for this deep and complex legendarium that the Professor created. Yours not the least.

This was such a beautiful take on Tuor and Idril’s arrival, and unexpected. There’s always this melancholy to your writing that is - painful and hopeful and beautiful, just like life. All at once I am suddenly back in those times of my life where I turned again to Middle-earth (and the ideas and works for my fellow fans)… stories are truly so powerful and I’m so thankful that I get to read another one of yours (and two more it seems like). It’s such a strange time we live in, but it seems to have urged many to reconnect with communities like this - which really are havens, aren’t they? - and that at least is a wonderful thing.

Author Reply: Hi Klose, so good to hear from you! Strange times that are getting even stranger...and I struggle to find that hope that always underlies Tolkien's words. I too returned to Tolkien during the pandemic...I remember re reading LOTR while waiting in line at the supermarket during lockdown... and it really helped me regain some strength...
I'm glad that you liked it. This story had been buried in my computer since 2006 or so...and only last year I found the right tone for it. It was a pleasure to.go back to those wonderful times. Thanks for stopping by and take care of yourself!

I love it that Tuor and Idril were permitted into Valinor, and that the crews of Turgon's ships were finally allowed the same! =)

Author Reply: Hi, Kathy! Those poor sailors really got a terrible deal, they really deserved that someone rescued them. I'm glad that you liked it, and I am grateful that you took the time to let me know!
