Dear Nurayy! Welcome to Stories of Arda! I have been reading here for over a decade and a half. In that time I have seen four of its authors go "beyond the circles of the world" as is sometimes said here. I have seen four other of my favorite Middle Earth Fan-Fiction Sites cease publishing. Even here, some of my early favorite writers have not added anything new in a decade or so. Seeing new writers here gives me hope that SOA can continue at least for a little more. Of all of the sites I have read in that time I have loved this one the most. The majority of the writing here is filled with a spirit of light, and hope.
And this little story of yours belongs with the best of them. From the moment Frodo stepped inside the ivy, I could SEE the garden. You helped me to see and feel through his eyes. With Frodo I could sense the depths in Legolas's eyes. You made the characters of the other elves real, as well. I would like to see you write the scene again, with the five of them returning to the garden after the Quest. They would all have grown wiser and more subdued. It would be interesting to see the change. Best Wishes.

I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I got no email alert, and so discovered your kind comment just now. Thank you so much for this! It means much, even to get such a lovely, encouraging comment from somebody with longtime experience like you. I'm so glad you liked it. And maybe one day, who knows, they might come back there together ;). Maybe, if inspiration strikes. Stay safe!

I like this pause before the quest, as Frodo first comes to appreciate the honor done by including Legolas within the Fellowship. Well written and described. Thank you for this!

Wow just wow Nurayy, what a charming story. This was a very eloquent chapter. I love how you gave us an insight into Frodo's thoughts along with the great conversation you've captured what I think is the nature of all the characters. lol I love Merry and Pippin and this was a awesome portrayal of them.

Thanks so much and looking forward to the next chapter

Author Reply: Thank you so much, eliza! It was my first time writing the hobbits, and I am so happy if I got them right. So glad you liked it! Oh, and the next chapter is not yet planned, but I started a series because I wish to write more of these moments, so I hope inspiration will soon knock at my door again :)

Nurayy!

I saw this on Teitho! Congrats on the Second place finish! Your touch with writing Legolas is just so wonderful. He is luminous in your hands. Wonderful.

Stay safe, Mellon nin!

((hugs))

Author Reply: Thank you Mirkwooodmaiden! I love writing Legolas, he has so many sides in my eyes, which fascinates me about him. And I always hope I manage to show these contrasts in him, which for me make him shine.

What a thoughtful and lovely story. I especially appreciate this image...

The closeness of his friends was such a steadying harbour in the vast sea of uncertainties raging within him.

Author Reply: I am so glad you liked it. Thank you! It is actually the first time I attempt to write the hobbits. I hoped I could get them right.

You paint such lovely pictures!

I especially appreciate the descriptions of Elvish eyes.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! Eyes are said to be the window to the soul, and so elvish eyes, so old, are endlessly fascinating to me.
