Through Different Eyes  by Nurayy 3 Review(s)

Nurayy!

I don't know if I reviewed this on FF.net but it doesn't matter because this story is good enought to review twice. So beautiful. I can feel the pain of the mothers who had to give up their sons and their husbands. That scene in PJ's TTT is running through my head and it always brings a lump in my throat whenever I see it. This story gives words to the pain of those moments.

Your Legolas is luminescent that is the only word. You write him so well.

Beautifully done!

Hope you are well!

((hugs))

Thank you so much. You have in fact reviewed this before, but I gladly enjoyed reading a second review from you :)
I am a bit behind with reading your story, but I'm still on it, I haven't abandoned. I just did not have so much time, and I read first the one's in progress, where the reader awaits feedback for encouragement to continue.
I hope you are well! Take care and will get to you soon again ;

This is an absolutely beautiful, and very moving story. I felt that I was there with Sorwyn, and the others, on this day of despair and hope. Oh, this was lovely!

Wonderful! We are present with the girl and her mother and sister. We hear and feel as she does. We see the other characters through her eyes, experience, and understanding. She seems to have one thing very much in common with Eowyn. Both have a hard time just waiting and doing nothing! She finds something which creates a bit of comfort for those around her. I very much like your insights for Eowyn. I think you understand her very well. And as for her seeing Eowyn as "princess"; as long as little girls have listened to "once upon a time", they have been fascinated by princesses. When I was born, there was only Snow White in the sisterhood of Disney Princesses. Before I was 10, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella joined her. But long before them there were the ladies from the stories my English-teacher mother told my sisters and I. In the ROTK movie, Eowyn comforts dying Theoden on the Pellenor Field. But in the book, the dying King tells MERRY to "give my love to Eowyn, dearer than daughter!" She may not have been his own daughter, but in raising her and Eomer, she became the child of his heart. And the daughter of a King is a princess, is she not?
There are three much older stories looking at Eowyn and the Battle of Helms Deep. They are by an author called "Joannawrites", and they are back on the next to oldest page of "Stories of Arda. Like you, she sees the battle from several points of view, including Eowyn's. She expresses the frustration of Eowyn and other women who would gladly have fought in the place of the boys, to protect them. You ought to read them. I think you would like them. And by the way, Welcome to Stories of Arda!
