Wow! I absolutely love this story. I wonder if you'll tell the stories if the other men. As for Denethor do you think he ever thought of that lady during the events of the War of the Ring?

One thing I really like about your stories is how convincingly they sit in canon and enhance and deepen it. This story is another fine example of this.

"Fortune Teller! We have enjoyed this wine overmuch." LOL

I must admit, I didn't quite get the part about saving the "seed" of his "enemy" until he was getting drunk with Faramir and talking about it at the end. Good excuse that they didn't expect the wine to be that strong, BTW.

I'll bet the old grandmother was right about most if not all of the others too -- getting rich, getting married, living long and dying happy, etc. Numenorean foresight. Great way to manipulate them into letting her tell their fortunes -- dare them and imply that they're cowards if they don't -- works every time! One more prophecy to add to the many others about Aragorn.

Great story!
