This was a wonderful story -- I really loved it. It's good to see the hobbits reunited and working back toward health and hobbitish-ness... :-) Thanks for writing!

Author Reply: Oh, thank you so much! I never tire of hobbits enjoying the healing, respect, light banter, and comfort that I feel they deserve.

It's been ages since I last read this. I still love this take on the hours after Frodo and Sam awoke, and Frodo's shock, but also just the completely sweet and honest conversations had by all, here at the end. Just what I needed today.

Off to read another one.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Aromene. I remember how much I enjoyed writing this story (it was my favorite for a long time), and it's a delight to know that it's still being enjoyed. I'll never tire of 'sweet' moments for our beloved hobbits. :)

“The Shire is its own realm," Aragorn murmured, "and I doubt they need a king." He smiled fondly at the four hobbits, laughing and talking. "... only each other."

Oh my, what a story. It has become at once one of my favourites, dearie.
So what do we need? Only each other and hobbits. You and those hobbits will always be in my heart.

Thank you again, Janet, for this wonderful story.
I don’t like this story, I simply LOVE it!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your lovely reviews, Julchen. You've helped me re-live the joy and satisfaction I felt while writing this story. These are the hobbits, king, and wizard I love so dearly. I'm so glad their characters shine through.

*hugs you tightly*

Awwww, Sam is awake. So sweet and tender, I love this chapter.
The last line made me laugh. Lembas. I¡¦m sure Frodo and Sam had more than enough of it ƒº

Thank you, honey! And now ¡V only one chapter left ¡K *sigh*

Author Reply: I'm just compelled to weave lightness and laughter into these stories. :)

"Frodo became the phial, filled with light --- and Sam, the hand which held it up so that it would not be lost."

This is so beautiful, Janet.

This chapter made me smile, gave me goosebumps.
Merry and Pip sounds so much like them … So it should have been.

Thank you, my dear.

Author Reply: Oh Julchen, that's one of my favorite lines. Thank you so much for highlighting it.

It's so easy to love them all, isn't it?

"“They’re going to need haircuts,” said Aragorn with a smile, brushing Frodo’s errant curls off his forehead. “T’would be a shame to have saved all of Middle-earth and not be able to see it.”

This made me smile.

You're a wonderful storyteller, dear. I'll save the next chapters for tomorrow night - I'll come back, you can count on it.

Thank you for making my night, sunshine!
*hugs and cuddles*

Author Reply: This remains one of my favoritest stories I've written. I'm so happy you like it, Julchen. *big hugs for you*

Oh dearie me! This is soooo lovely and so lovingly written. It's a quiet one, very sensitive, very emotional. It brought tears into my eyes and it made me smile at the end.
I'll RUN now to chapter 2 :-)

Thank you, again, my dear.

Ooh! That was really amazing! As are all of your works. I liked Frodo's reaction to seeing Aragorn. He just naturally assumed he had died. That's sad. Hantanyel for your wonderful stories!
God BLess,
Namarie,
Frodo Baggins

Author Reply: Thank you very much! This story was always one of my very favorites.

What a lovely story. I can see the hobbits, Aragorn and Gandalf come to life. I think you gave a very good description of how unreal the survival felt to Frodo. But it really hit home with me with Pippin's outburst.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I tried to show how much the hobbits care for one another, and how much their friends care for all of them. I especially enjoy it when the hobbits take turns in comforting, and needing comfort, as Pippin did in this story. :D

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 5 on 10/12/2006
Oh, I love, love, love, love this!!! I think I read some before, somewhere else, but then this summer's doings threw everything into turmoil and I forgot about it. I'm so glad I found it again in my search for others' interpretations of the period I'm writing in now with "Renewal".

The joy and shock at being alive, the happy awakenings and reunions, Frodo comforting Pippin, and Frodo's talk with Sam...and the haircuts! LOL! I'd so love to see a little fic in which Frodo *received* that haircut, and of course Sam would need one too. And the feast was the best! Yummm...*sneaks off to the kitchen* :) :)

Thank you for such a lovely read!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you so much! And I'm loving your story, as well. There can never be enough tending, healing, or loving attention paid to the hobbits, as far as I'm concerned. And we all have a different perspective on these events, and our own "story" to tell. What a joy.
