I shouldn't have read this in a restaurant, it made me a little teary... :-)

Author Reply: Oh thank you. It means a great deal to me that someone finds something I wrote to be moving.

Well, I finally got around to reading this, and... *bursts into tears*

Oh man... this has to be one of the best fan fics I've ever read. I adored the way you wrote Círdan, and this line especially: "Home is that place, or that person, that sings the song we recognize, Frodo, and which recognizes us." Beautiful. It was great to see Frodo and Bilbo interacting with the Elves (and Gandalf, of course). One of my favorite parts was Galadriel's apprehension when she stepped off the ship; it was so great to see her getting such a warm welcome (I'd say she deserved it). And Elrond and Celebrían's reunion was just wonderful (I wish there was more written about that couple). And Frodo... it warmed my heart for him to finally find that peace and happiness! Thank you so much for writing this, shirebound, it is truly one of your best!

What a perfect ending to the story! I love that Galadriel was welcomed home, and nothing could please me more than to see Celebrian and Elrond reunited. That made me cry! (I know, I know, obsession and all that).

I also loved that all these elves were waiting to see the hobbits too. How wonderful for them to be so warmly welcomed to their new home. I loved it - I love it when Frodo finds peace and healing and a place where shadow can no longer trouble him.

hello! I love your work, and this is one of the parts of LOTR that I most wish tolkien would have written for us-but since he did not, I'm glad you did! Will we get to see when sam comes over? I hope!

I have always wondered why Tolkien only left us with a vauge "your time may come" for Sam. Do you know if Tolkine in his letters ever said definitively that he would? And how would Sam know it was "time."

I do hope the movies touch on the concept of "reuniting" as I think it is the one thing that makes reading the last 2 pages of ROTK bearable (sobs!)

great work!

A lovely story. The end of ROTK is always so bittersweet as our hero and some of the most intriguing beings Tolkien created literally "pass away." Loved Frodo's perspective on the reunion of Galadriel and Elrond with those they love. I've always thought that must have been and overwhelming moment.

And this was wonderful:

“I do not know how mortals see each other, Frodo, but when we look at you, we see a being of such beauty and Light that I cannot truly describe it."

How appropriate.

Thank you for this beautifully conceived and brilliantly executed story.

Wonderful ending. I admire how hard the decriptions must have been to write. Wow. It was beautiful. I loved the Celebrian/Elrond bit. Perfect.

I did have a tiny question-as I worship your hobbit writings I was wondering if maybe you could read the first two chapters of my hobbits story that I am writing? It is here, called "When the Dwarf Came A-Visiting." I'm not sure whether it's good or not, as I've gotten several hits but no reviews. *Sigh* If you wouldn't mind, could you possibly read it and give me several pointers? Thank you. :)

Once again, I love your descriptions of Tol Erresea. They made me weep.
