Another perfect story. I'm sure I've read it before, but it was like reading it for the first time. I had a smile on my face the whole time.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your lovely comment. This story has always been very special to me. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. :)

I just finished reading your last chapter of The Three Towers. I thought I would look around, and found this which I had not read yet. ( I know, it has been here a long time.) But I think the Internet behaves much like your vision of the Undying Lands. Once something is here, it is as though no time has passed. this is a sweet piece. I especially like Celebrian's baby. Life indeed continues! Best Wishes to you.

Author Reply: Thank you! This story was so important to me -- I *need* to know that Frodo found healing and joy in the West. And I'm sure he remains there to this day, happy and at peace.

:D

i am a self-professed Merry and Pippin fanatic. which is why i rarely read any fic that focuses solely on Frodo but I am glad that i read this fic. just like Sam, i cann't even begin to think of properly describing the feelings i felt as i read this, just that it was pure joy. it would take ever so long to even try and imagine every thing that you have described so wonderfully here. thank you so much!

Author Reply: Thank *you* for such a lovely review! This story holds a very special place in my heart, and for you to read and enjoy it -- without Merry and Pippin! -- is a high compliment. (For a story about Tol Eressea *with* Merry and Pippin in it, you might also enjoy "Healed".)

Oh, how wonderful. I'd forgotten how wonderful. I love your use of music and song. I love how the hobbits have such a beautiful and peaceful life together on the Blessed Isle. I love the reunion of Elrond and Celebrian. *happy sigh*

And oh, it wasn't the last ship, it wasn't!

Author Reply: Elanor, thank you so much! I'm so happy to have written this, and to have been able to bring Sam "home".

It was SO not the last ship!

*sigh* Wonderful...this story reminded me so much of my trip to Germany, where I met my dearest friend in person for the first time...reading it felt like reliving it somehow, that seemingly endless plane trip and then the arrival in a place that seemed like paradise itself, far removed from time or the rest of the world, and of course the meeting with my own soul-mate, face to face for the first time. You really have a gift for touching the heart and bringing a smile seemingly without any effort at all. So glad you have no intention of stopping!

thanks bunches

Author Reply: Thank you for your sweet words. This story was very special to me, and seemed to "insist" on being written. I'm happy it struck a chord with you, and brought back good memories.

Words fail me. Lovely, just lovely. What a way to end a long cold winter day. Thank you.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Rowan. No more long cold winter days for Frodo or Sam!

Excellant chapter! I really enjoyed it. I loved the little bit about baby Elanor, the idea that Elrond and Celebrian could have more children is a cool one. I may have to use that concept myself someday :) I especially liked the bit about the kind of fireworks Gandalf created as well, that was cool. Well done.

I don't know that anyone else (you being the chief person) would back me up on my thoughts here, but if the muse should strike again concerning this story, then reuniting the final two fellowship members, Legolas and Gimli, with their beloved Hobbits might make for a great final chapter as well. That would certainly be a merry meeting!

Anyways, just a thought. I've enjoyed this journey with you, it's been a fun and insightful one. See ya soon!

Author Reply: Hi, Little Mouse! IF the muse ever strikes again, I'll certainly write more (but I rather think this story is complete now). Hopefully someone will write about that "merry meeting".

Thank you for journeying with me!

Hello, Happy New Year, and thank you for the beautiful last chapter of "Sing Me Home"! I just now got the author update from Stories From Arda. After a month of perusing all the good fan fiction that I can find, I am reading LOTR again, and I find that my experience with the original story is enhanced and deepened by the inventiveness of your work. I want you to know that I very, very much appreciate the integrity of your use of the canon in your stories. I am impressed by the amount of research and use of details from the book in "By Chance Or Purpose."

A personal question: Now that ROTK is here, and you have written about so many different aspects of the tale, are you still fired up about writing fan fic? I am thinking about writing one of my own (telling of Boromir's first weeks in Rivendell, with his struggles and growth, relationships with hobbits, and Frodo angst & h/c told from Boromir's POV) but I am wondering if the whole LOTR fan-fic thing is still as immediate and gripping as it was last year. Do you think that people are still interested? How do you feel about it?

Again, thanks so much for your beautiful storytelling. I was ill in October and November, and I couldn't do much but read, and I read a lot of your work at that time. It gave me many happy moments of fun and release from strain. I am very grateful, and I hope that the Lord richly blesses you back for all the good you have given to others.

Author Reply: What a lovely review, Esamen! I appreciate so much you letting me know that you're enjoying so many of my stories. I'm sorry you were ill, but I'm happy to have given you fics to read! The one you have in mind to write yourself sounds intriguing -- I certainly hope you'll let me know when you post chapter 1. There are too few stories told from Boromir's POV, especially concerning hobbits (and book canon).

Regarding the fate of fanfiction post-ROTK movie, there was fanfiction WAY before the movies were even a gleam in Peter Jackson's eye, and I have no doubt that the books (and films) will continue to inspire LOTR fans for many years to come. I, for one, have no plans to stop writing -- especially since I have more ideas than I have time to write them down!

Again, my thanks.

Shirebound, first off let me say THANK YOU for writing this chapter - I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hoping you would and I am glad you wrote it after seeing ROTK -I mean I felt a little annoyed they didn't even hint Sam would later go into the West - in fact the hinted the opposite and while I LOVED seeing the Grey Havens played out before my eyes my mind was screaming "No, Sam WILL go West later and he WILL SEE Frodo again!"

Wow but I never considered that on Tol Eressëa they would have a palantir that its inhabitants could use if they so wished to gaze back into the happenings of Middle-earth - it's a wonderful tool to allow Frodo to see all is well in the Shire and those he loved the most that were left behind are happy and content!

I also NEVER imagined that Bilbo would be alive when Sam came West - wow he's got to be what - 190? I mean didn't he want to stay in ME long enough to pass the Old Took's age and that was what - 130? Anyway, in any case, I would say he more than passed the Old Took in age - too bad no one in the Shire would know about it!

Sam's arrival to Tol Eressëa was PERFECT - I get tears in my eyes picturing him and Frodo hugging - and then what a picture to imagine all the Elves present bowing to honor Sam, the last of the Ringbearers!

I also love that you gave Elrond and Celebrian another daughter - and named her Elanor to boot! That was a sweet moment!

Oh and Gandalf making his fireworks again - what an appropiate way to celebrate the homecoming of the last of the Ringbearers from Middle-earth! OH and the descriptions - if only I could see for myself the firework's our favorite wizard makes!

And lastly, it is nice to see that Sam feels home immediately in the West - though I suspect the biggest reason why he feels so at home right away is because Frodo is there and they're together again at last!

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for writing this wonderful and touching chapter!

*sighs in contentment*

Author Reply: You're such a sweetie!

Actually, Tol Eressea now has *two* palantiri, as the one at the Tower Hills (Grey Havens) was taken aboard the Ringbearers' ship when they left. Maybe someone will write more about this someday.

I'm so glad this chapter was satsifying for you! *Now* the story feels complete to me.
