| OMG. Another bad!Thranduil fanfic.This cannot be considered even remotely close to canon. For one Thranduil was known to be very caring for his people. Also Professor Tolkien's essay 'The laws and customs of the Eldar' essentially negates the concept of Elven children born out if wedlock. |

| A beautiful and very sad story and in this case the cruelty of Thranduil was wellplaced as it was such a story.Sadly or luckily perhaps it took a small child to thaw his frozen heart. Such a fine story. |

Author Reply: Honestly, I'm not a fan of evil Thranduil either, but when I heard that song he was the only character I could think of that fit! I tried fix things a bit by softening him right at the end. :) Viresse was my attempt at explaining away the absence of Legolas' mother. |
