The Roses of Ilúvatar  by Orophins Dottir 3 Review(s)
daw the minstrelReviewed Chapter: 5 on 11/30/2003
Very cool. I loved the image of Giluviel riding at the head of this group of armed, scary elves. You can really feel the tension here, as the men and the elves regard one another. Poor Arwen. She is caught in the middle.

Author Reply: Thank you. I am fond of Giluviel and his devotion to Legolas is without bounds. He also looks really spiffy upon a black horse. *The Dottir fans herself and sighs.*

Arwen has found her courage again, and I can but hope that Aragorn will recover from the blow.

I love this story, but it is so sad. Poor Legolas seems to be getting worse instead of better - why? Is it because he feels the hatred directed at him, or because someone has been using a very subtle poison?

I understand the elves of Ithilien riding to protect their prince, but I can't help feeling they are going to make matters worse if they appear fierce and warlike. And Aragorn and Arwen really need to talk to them!

Please update (either story) soon!

Author Reply: Thy wish is my command! Arwen and Aragorn are talking and I have updated. Please see "Jewels" for more. I only hope Aragorn survives what Arwen has to say.

I am honored to have the review of one of Arda's best. Thank you!

This is so powerful. While I struggle with the premise, because I hate evil, I am impressed with these warrior elves. They ride to protect their prince, and all of Gondor is seeing them arrayed in power and might as they have probably never before seen him.

And my heart breaks for Aragorn and Arwen.

And I wonder why Legolas will not heal.....

*sob*

Author Reply: Ai, do not weep, fair Nilmandra! Legolas is at last in the arms of his brother. I just have to help Haldir come up with a cure. Not an easy task I assure you,

Arwen is now talking. Dear Lady, perhaps you should send Glorfy to comfort the king? He is being dealt a real body blow. Even Elrond do I treat better as a rule!
