Well, that's taken care of! Glad Frodo can start on the path to recovery now!

Yes, they come from everywhere, drawn by dreams and thinly veiled threats and who knows what? And Frodo at last truly sleeps within his body, gaining strength for the greater quest to come.

Author Reply: Frodo at last truly sleeps within his body

I love how you word that.

Hi, I just finished reading your story. I really enjoyed it! I haven't read Quarentine yet. I wanted to see what you did with this one because I have been reading Budgielover's "Out of All Knowledge". Yours is very interesting, expecially because Budgielover hasn't gotten the shard out yet. I really enjoyed the Green Elladan story:-)Very funny! Anyway, Keep up the good work! I will be waiting to see how fast you let Frodo recover.

Hi. I am new to this website, and to fanfiction in general. I would just like to say, that if your story is anything to judge by, I have been missing out. Your dialogue is believable, your characters have kept the personalities gifted to them by J.R.R. Tolkien, and your obvious talent as a writer is astonishing. OK, now that I have said everything formally that I wanted to say, GREAT JOB! I love this story, as well as Quarantined. It is so sweet how they all seem to care so much for Frodo. And I thought that the movies left out the strong relationships that were so obvious in the books. To see them in FanFiction is so awesome, especially when Aragorn is put into the mix. I always wondered why Frodo seemed to trust 'Strider" so easily and completely. This story gives a plausible explanation. Update as soon as you can!

There are so many things I love about this story! But what really makes it special is the care and compassion that flow between the characters. The special bond between Frodo and Aragorn lights up like a beacon, and Sam's confidence in Aragorn is so touching.

oh wow... wow... what a chapter... with Aragorn calling Frodo back just made me say "awww" so much... wow... :-0 this key chapter couldn't get better than that part since Frodo means so much to Aragorn...

wait..i do have something to say/ask/affirm
lol (other than expressing deep wonder at the power of this chapter) =)
... I really enjoyed your creativeness in having Vilya and Narya be part of getting the shard back, but exactly what it did is still confusing to me... Elrond used Vilya in conjunction with Gandalf's Ring to help in both trying to find the Ring and strengthening Frodo while they go through the process of delaying the fading...
did Tolkien mention anywhere these rings have the power to do this, or is this a creative thought by you? it's just quite an amazing twist you add of using the Ring to aid in finding the shard... and also the timing... if Frodo's life functions were slowed down, there's so much danger to him since he's so weak already... so i guess that's how Narya comes in, right?
i'm glad that you didn't dwell on the whole surgery and cutting part since i'm always cringing with those parts in other "between Book 1 to Book 2" stories. hehe :p

Great job Shirebound!
Good luck with the next chapter...i can't wait till Frodo awakes.... (wait, but are you covering till then? more hobbit interacton till then? i hope we see some of Bilbo too, poor soul)

Thanks so much!

A wonderful chapter, as always. I especially loved your explanation of Aragorn's 'gift' to call back those who are fading. And as far as the effect of cliffhangers is concerned: Of course I know that you will not let Frodo die. It's the 'how do they save him' question that's exciting!

Oh, it’s so warm, I had forgotten it could be so warm

That line sums up your writing. No matter how cold the situation gets you manage to bring warmth. Thank you for this cuddle.

Nice touch, having Aragorn call Frodo back from the beyond - a bit of foreshadowing for what he will do when the eagles bring Frodo to him in the future. I think we will all be happy to have five hobbits to feed - this had to so very trying for them all to watch. And I also like a little foreshadowing for the sons of Elrond too, knowing of the aid they provide at the Pelennor.

What a great way to start a Saturday! At the risk of having to dodge rocks thrown by other reviewers, I really loved the group effort to heal Frodo! Of course Elrond had to perform the surgery, but echoing the healing scene in "Quarantined" with Aragorn calling Frodo back (and then gently putting him to sleep) was very touching, and the involvement and after-action review by Gandalf, Elrond, and Elrohir only enhanced its effectiveness, in my opinion. I'm also glad you managed to work in Elrohir's concern for his foster brother. Your speculation about the source of Aragorn's healing powers was intriguing and insightful. What's next?
