| I loved this chapter it had me crying with laughter. I didn't think it could get much better after the incidents with Haldir, and Gil-galad falling out the tree but this latest update was brilliant. I especially love the way Glorfindel seems so wary of Celeborn, and leaves it to Gil-galad to save the day, I can't wait to see what happens to Elrond, and what Celeborn will say to Celebrian. | I always enjoy the latest development in this story Dragon. I think more than anyone else you've captured Gil-Galad, Glorfindel and Elrond as the 'Terrible Trio'. I especially enjoy the way you combine Gil-Galad's High Kingly-ness and potential for mischief with Elrond's slightly more stuffy half-elven nature. Your Glorfindel is just a joy - the kind of gorgeous yet hapless male that all the women chase, but who constantly defies being dragged into anything as boring as a relationship. To me your story embodies that time. Too many of the stories around that era in Tolkien's world concentrate exclusively on the foul deeds and darkness growing around them and make the High King seem rather bowed down and full of gloom and despair, as I suppose many writers feel befitted his eventual fate. I love the depiction of Celeborn as the constantly horrified and enraged father who sees every male around as the potential de-flowerer of his baby girl and the resigned weariness of Galadriel as she tries to steer both her husband and daughter through the pitfalls they seem to provide for themselves without any help from anyone else! Please keep it going, as long as you can anyway. It's delightful. I like to write about the happy, everyday times in Tolkien's world. There is still so much goodness and joy about, even when evil deeds are happening. And I write to laugh and make others smile! | Mind you, it is quite surprising that Elrond and Celebrian ever got as far as begetting the twins so that they could go through a painful adolescence. Author Reply: *g* Indeed. A prolonged and painful courtship, in order to spawn brats that go through eighty years or so of turbulent adolescence. You wonder why people want to be elves, really. | |

| I love seeing Elrond and Celebrian walking cautiously round each other, both totally oblivious to what is going on. I feel sorry for Haldir, though. | |

| I've enjoyed all of your writing that I've read so far, and this seems like it will also be entertaining. One little thing though: the consort of Galadriel of Lorien? Now it's entirely possible that there is a meaning of "consort" that I'm not familiar with, but I thought that a consort was the spouse of a ruler? So the consort of Galadriel would be Celeborn (although since I'm pretty sure Celeborn rules Lothlorien as much as Galadriel, I don't think I'd call him a consort, but maybe you disagree, I know some people seem to). Maybe you want a different word here? Just a suggestion, if you don't like it ignore me. Author Reply: *winces* Ah yes, one of those things I should change. | 'Nobody had any trouble as identifying them as Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn, despite their attire. They were not wearing very much.' How wicked. And I feel Galadriel will cope with the incident so much better than Celeborn. Poor Celebrian, trying to have a romance in the middle of all this! | |

| This is such fun - all those elegant smooth elves falling over themselves and putting horse chestnuts down each other's backs. Poor Celebrian, growing up with her perfect mother and protective father. Although funnily, I feel quite sorry for Haldir, who is being used quite ruthlessly by Celeborn. Love it. | |
