I think this is a great idea for a set of linked stories, and the beginning piece set a nice tone. I think the two most prevalent symbols in LOTR are Tolkien's uses of light and water, so I'm thrilled to see someone exploring one of those facets. Can't wait to read more!

This story has a healing balm in it. The words themselves are somehow soothing and uplifting. Oh light, beautiful, wonderful light.

I love Sam's common-sense, the reclaiming of Frodo's memories piece by piece, I love it all. Thank you so much for this, I needed just such a reminder of peaceful, comfortable joy.

This is just simply lovely! I think you have captured both Sam and Frodo perfectly, and I liked the fact that Frodo has no idea what to do next and turns to Sam for guidence. Nice touch with the candles chsing away the darkness in both room and thought :) I look forward to see more of this story!

Love, Aewyn

I like this glimpse of Frodo's struggle to readjust after finding himself alive and safe but suddenly without a purpose.

Hi, it's me again. I just posted a review of "Can you Sing, Master Hobbit" which I found so amusing and uplifting, and here's another one that touched my heart in a completely different way. I can't get enough of Sam and Frodo, and dearly love your portrayal of them, and of all the other characters from LotR. I wonder why no one else has really addressed the concept of their being at loose ends without the dangers and darkness of the quest hanging over them? Only you would think of this. This is a wonderful idea and I look forward to your next chapter. Julia

Oh, Shirebound! This is lovely! LOVELY! I know I am really going to enjoy this story. It's off to a beautiful start. Those poor baby hobbits! They have lived in hardship and darkness and pain and being hunted for so long, it's hard for them to remember what normal was like. I look forward to the next chapter.

Blessings!

Oh, that was so sweet. I guess I hadn't thought about how hard it would be adjust to not having to plan every move of your life after you've done it for so long. Nice chapter, and nice concept.

Connie.
