OOOoooohhh...sneaky healers! Aragorn could take lessons from these hobbits!

Oh, yes, I remember now. The leg.

I love a hungover Pippin. *chuckle*

And your Diamond is wonderful.

*chortle* Obviously Faramir has paid a good deal of attention to his father's tales of the Quest. I could *so* see this one happening...

I love this little exchange:

'How many babes have you delivered, then?' she demanded.

'Well, none from under a coach, mind...' he prevaricated.

So hobbity and so very *Pippin*! I've just been summarizing the "Houses of Healing" chapter, and Merry's words about "light words" in serious situations are fresh in my mind.

I love how competent little Faramir is--such a dear lad.

Well, after all the reminders, I decided to start this one over at the beginning and read it all the way through again, instead of just trying to pick out the relevant chapters as they are referenced. I immediately remembered this opening...
Pippin *does* have a point about his luck. He doesn't realize his luck is dependent on some author's muse...
If he only knew...(sly grin)

I bawled my eyes out the first time I read this story, and wouldn't you know that even when I knew what was going to happen, I still ended up crying with Sam when he read the King's contract, and at the Epilogue. It's very moving writing - thank you so much for sharing your talents with us all.

Author Reply: *hugs* Up late, unable to sleep, and so whiling away the time reading old chapters and answering old reviews.

Thank you so much for all the food for thought you've provided all along.

Finished! Yay! I loved it, especially the way you managed to bring all of the characters (men, elves, dwarves) together.

Frodo paid the debt...needless to say I cried when I read that.

Lovely, truly lovely. And I like the story's title. It fits.

I look forward to seeing your other works!

Oh no! The poor Shire....

This chapter is in all bold as well...I demand a salary for all of this help. I demand to be paid as much as the Thain! (Or at the very least, as much as his chancellor)

Author Reply: Thanks for the latest correction! As much as the Thain, eh? I think we might be able to swing that...

Oh, how cool is this! I can hardly wait to read of Eomer, Eowyn, and Faramir visiting the Shire. (And when Faramir meets his namesake!)

I certacinly hope that they can convince Merry to stay in bed...

This sentence made little sense to me: (/must needs/?)

'Don't I know it?' Pippin answered. 'I /must needs/ return to Tuckborough tomorrow. But I expect you to stay abed even without me sitting upon you.' He picked up a covered cup from the table by the bed. 'Here, Healer Robin left this for you. He said it would help you to sleep without dreaming.'

Surely you didn't mean for the setence to be that garbled. While not a large error, I thought you might want to know. (I, for one, like my stories perfect.:)

Author Reply: "must needs" is actually an archaic construction which you might find in materials written in the 1800s. Just substitute "need to" when you see it. So "I must needs return to Tuckborough" actually means, in modern-day language, "I need to return to Tuckborough"

Sorry if it was a stumbling block to you; at times I wax too flowery, I fear.
