Ah, the memory of Sam and slugs at Bag End was unexpected, but excellent.

Grief.

And my heart bleeds for Beregond, who must do this to save the Steward's son, his captain, his hero, the hope for the city if the King does not come again.

Wonderful symmetry from the previous drabble.

Oh, how I love this one, Lindelea. So right, so appropriate. The shadow has hidden Merry, but will be pushed away by the Light of the King.

Author Reply: O how I like the word-picture you paint here! Thanks!

What a great little glimpse into Rosie`s thoughts! I don`t think I have seen anyone write about Rosie knowing that her Sam would come so long before he does. Thank you for sharing this!

Author Reply: Goodness, I was poking around and just saw this!

I think Jodancingtree wrote about Rosie's foreknowing in her marvellous story "Sam's Rose". If you haven't read it, you're in for a treat!
