The Three Towers  by shirebound 24 Review(s)

Ah, yes. The Fellowship will go together. That feels so satisfyingly right. And what better way to receive support through such a potentially frightening experience than to have, by your side, the very people who had pledged once before to be with you through all manner of evil.

I have a feeling that more unresolved issues will be addressed than just Frodo's own.

Yay! the Fellowship together again. Oh joy! I had Frodo going into Mordor ten years after, but it is always wonderful to read another author's take on things, and I just love hobbity goodness.

Poor Sam - he must be worried, and I'm worried that he thinks Aragorn will be needed, but I'm delighted that he's going .......if you know what I mean!
Oooh! Even Gandalf is going along. I'm so looking forward to more!

“I knew you would come with me,” Frodo said, his eyes shining. “I knew all of you would – which is why I left.”
Well, this time all of them will be with him, he will not be able to escape again! I'm really glad to know that!
I found lots of the questions spinning in my mind being aswered in this chapter, but I still have a bad feeling about revisiting Cirith Ungol...

“For Frodo!” he heard echo through his thoughts.

And "For Frodo" it shall be! Let's hope this journey will ease his mind!

I knew there was a story I kept expecting an update to: this was it.

It will be nice, if that is a good word to use when we're talking about going into Mordor, for Frodo to have everyone there to support him in a way he didn't on the Quest.

I'm looking forward to how this little trip is going to affect everyone else, as well as Frodo.

Can't wait till you post the next part.

GT.

Oh, I'm reviewing both chapters here... just got caught up on this story! And I am so excited, because I can barely think of anything more fun to read than the Fellowship taking another trek together. Especially while Frodo is recovering, and given the possible perils they could face on the Road and afterward... and of course, I live for Fellowship banter, too.

Frodo's determination here is perfect---I don't blame him a bit for wanting to return to the scene to best deal with the foggy memories. And Frodo with his feet up and having them rubbed by Aragorn---wonderful! Especially his worrying about Aragorn's dignity, too. :) And yes, I have a feeling---knowing you---that Frodo will certainly need Aragorn there with him on this journey.

I really like Alcaren ... can I have his job? I'd give my eyeteeth to be a hobbit caretaker!

Oh my...another...and I haven't even finished the last one yet but I just had to start this one! My puter has been in the hospital and I've fallen hopelessly behind in my reading and writing, also Santa Claus brought me a new toy(a MIDI keyboard)and so my musical muse has got me by the hair of my head--I've written 4 pieces so far and am in the middle of another...so no telling when I'll ever catch up!

Well, when I saw the premise I thought, No way! But after reading, it does make sense for him to go back....I myself scrapped a plan to have him visit a tower in order to try and conquer his horror of such. But yes, I think it will work!

Wonderful as always!

Oh boy, I beg to differ with the notion that Bagginses are predictable. I suppose Frodo and Bilbo are exceptions, but I never would have expected this of all things. Goodness, he is so stubborn! But I hope this journey helps him in the long run. I shudder to think what's bound to lie ahead for him in the tower though.
This is a really cool idea, Shirebound...very original. And now I'm hooked and I can't wait for more!!! :-) God bless,
Galadriel

Shirebound, I have to pause here and just tell you again how very beautiful your style is, how well you handle the characters of the story, especially Frodo and Sam, and how perceptive you are in arranging the story.

Frodo is still amusingly in character - stubborn, aware of the dignity of others if not himself, and unflinchingly constant and unsparing of himself.

I felt so moved during Sam's plea to Aragorn and Aragorn's sensitive understanding of what Frodo hoped to achieve with his painful quest - and then an unexpected flood of emotion, almost to tears, when Legolas and Gimli came in to offer their companionship. When Gandalf added himself to the reconstituted fellowship, I was done for.

I do hope that when thoughts of Boromir come up (as I assume they must once the group resumes this part of the "Quest") that they treat him with kindness in their hearts, if not forgiveness. His nature was basically noble, which is what the Ring played on, and his absence will leave a hole in their journey.

See, I'm already anticipating. Thanks for a lovely chapter.

Oh - poor Sam. Cirith Ungol was not only a nightmare for Frodo, wasn't it?

“For Frodo!” he heard echo through his thoughts.

Did you know that this was one of the very favorite Aragorn-moments in ROTK for me? Makes me still shiver every time I watch it. And thankyou for this tale!

Yay! The Fellowship sticks together! I'm so glad Frodo will have their company...I'm sure he'll need it!

"Aragorn, it's undignified for the High King of the Reunited Kingdoms to be rubbing the feet of a battered hobbit. What if Alcaren should see you?"

That made me giggle! :D
