| It's so sad to see dear old Flour-dumpling (and I say it with affection) so thin, but at least his spirits don't seem to have suffered much. That was clever, having Frodo accept the job out of sympathy. I love the interlude at the end, especially this: “I understand, though, Frodo. Don’t think too badly of them for not gettin’ it or appreciating it. They don’t want to know what happened because they don’t want to believe anything so evil would have anything to do with us.” He makes me look at him again. “They want to believe they’re safe. And they are, because of you. They wouldn’t feel half as safe if they knew of all the dangers beyond our borders. I’m afraid the ruffians was as much as they could handle.” Beautifully put! And I like Rosie's appearance and her addressing the two as "lads." Yes, they're her lads, all right, and she's going to look after them both by and by. I know I keep saying this, Ellie, but I can't get enough of this! It's so delightful now to be able to follow your stories as you've followed mine and Antane's. And I can't wait till this is finished, because when it is, I'm going right back to the beginning and reading it all over again! :) God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Wow, long review! | Oh, I was so excited to see another one up so soon! :) You know, Ellie, if I may say so, I've seen great improvement in your writing even since you've joined SOA. Wish I improved that fast! :) Everyone is so wonderfully in character here! I had to laugh at the Gamgee sisters still liking Frodo, thinking back to "Pride..." Sounds as if Sam has some explaining to do to Rosie yet. I said everyone is in character, and so they are, but I'm especially impressed with how well you do Frodo's perspective! It's amazing! | Aww, I liked this chapter alot! You R such a good writer. Now we all feel kindly towards Lobelia, and sad again for Frodo. All that work! (Never realized!)And he is already so used up inside. I am glad Sam and Merry + Pip are there and strong for him. I like the way you write as if you were reading right out of Frodos diary! Next! Next! Next! | Hello again -- yes, I posted a fic here. It's under my SoA name esamen and it's titled Boromir in Rivendell. Not a real catchy title! But a lot of people liked it, if I say so myself. Classic Fellowship-in-Rivendell stuff. I'm working on writing and publishing also. Writing is great; publishing is tough! I finally self-published my first novel. Of course going through all that together would make Sam and Frodo closer than ever, and I don't think Sam would worry about "ordering Mr. Frodo about," as can be seen in mystories. :) And you capture the surprise and wonder and confusion of the other hobbits excellently. | Hello there Elanor S! I am thrilled to read your new story. I'll have to go look up your other one now and read it too! You have really put this together very well. Nice work with the dialogue, the POV, and the characterization of each hobbit. I enjoyed the whole chapter and I look forward to the next one. I am a big fan of Tolkien's books, having read them long ago, and I also love to write. So I look for fics that stay fairly close to LOTR canon and that are well written. This is very good! Are you a serious writer? that is, do you study the craft and have plans to write your own book someday? You should . . . you've got the talent. Yes I am a serious writer, I've been writing stories since I was nine, and decided about a year later that I wanted to be a Young Adult Novelist. I've got ideas for exactly one hundred and twenty origional stories, though most are only paragraphs and not worthy of the title "Story" I am currently working on getting a story published, but the first company I tried turned it down.
