I'm sure the boys would love to build a catapult. It seems their uncle is learning to understand them at last. They remind me of William Brown.
Surely the dog can't have such a dreadful diet?It quite put me off my supper !

As a mother of twin boys and a single (boy also). I am getting a lot of pleasure anticipating all the lovely ways Amrothos is going to regret this little venture.
Thanks for this story, it is great!

Oh NO!! Nonononono!!! This is so not good and on so very many levels at that!! Even a small size catapult in those three's hands....

I can't wait!! :oD

This is beyond hilarious and so true too. Looking forward to what fresh hell the three Princes of the Mark will come up w/this!! :oD

Uncle Amrothos, I don't think letting these three little hellions build a weapon is such a good idea--they might use it on you when they get done! I just hope he can survive the four days left until Lothi and Eomer come home, and he can leave, hopefully with all limbs intact.

In response to your last review reply, I have no problem with practical jokes, but the three little monsters take theirs way too far. I worked in child psychology for many years, and I have seen where the children of such permissive parents usually end up, and it's usually juvie then jail after they are 18. This is a story, so you can have them turn out to be heroes, but believe me, if this story was real, they'd be lighting fires and torturing small animals by now (or maybe they've already done both of those and Lothi convinced Eomer they were just being "clever.")

As for Huey, Dewey, and Louie, I know all about them. I relegate them to the same category that I do The Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy--too stupid for a person with any education to watch. Though I do have a soft spot for Abbott and Costello, I admit.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Amrothos and his nephews should get along like a house on fire. Although he would be very wise to continue excessively wary! This is a project that should work. Maybe not quite as well as Master Innon's - but then, Amrothos has less experience in dealing with the recalcitrant young. (I wonder what all Amrothos's ex-tutors are doing now ...)

And it sounds as if cleansing the dog-monster should wear the three princes out for now - and I'm with Amrothos. I'd inflict the creature on the other dogs, too! At least until its tastebuds could be retrained to prefer a more delicately scented diet.

I'm intrigued by Eomer's fascination with building - and the shipbuilding text. And that he has managed to find a way of dealing with Lothiriel's ... literalness ... without engaging in endless debate!

Amrothos's plan = brilliant. The project he has chosen? I sense danger. But fun. For the reader at least.

Delightful.

Well - the offspring of Lothiriel and Eomer were never exactly going to be angels. But these three take curiosity and courage a smidgeon too far, perhaps! At least two of their mother's brothers think so - with good reason. Perhaps it's a good thing that the two youngest haven't yet escaped the watchful eye of their nurses to join in the party.

And what poetic justice for Amrothos - who seems to have escaped with unfairly co-operative children. Although I note that his daughter determined that the rest of the family would not be visiting Edoras this time. I'm sure Imrahil would consider the frogspawn a fair price to pay for watching his son attempt to subdue three little Rohirric demons. And their warg of a dog.

Lovely. Simply lovely. I am thoroughly looking forward to more of this.

Author Reply: Perhaps you remember what Imrahil said to Erchirion after the ‘behourd’? “My only solace is that one day all of you will have children of your own,” the Lord of Dol Amroth remarked philosophically. “And then I will sit back, watch and gloat.” In a way that wish came back to him to do some haunting, but what is a bit of frogspawn in comparison to all the entertainment he gets?

Don’t be too hopeful regarding the two youngest. They are going to show up later and they are really promising

Have I ever told you that I adore your fics? Seriously, there's always at least one part that leaves me in gales of laughter and the whole incident with Erchirion and the bed... genius. It is hilarious to watch Amrothos get a taste of his own medicine though I have to admit, the princes sound like genuine terrors. Maybe Eomer's ignoring their behavious because it's good to scare off orcs. And I would LOVE to know what Imrahil, Aragorn, Arwen, Faramir, Eowyn, Gimli and Legolas think of their friend's offspring!

Lovin' it. PLEASE UPDATE SOON!

Author Reply: My idea with the bed chamber prank came from a RL incident. One of my cousins (and I have legions of them) got married a couple of years ago and my brother and her brothers took out all bolts and screws from her newly assembled marriage-bed. You can imagine that the wedding night was a rather uncomfortable affair, spent on the sofa bed in the living room. Her husband had a good come-back the next morning: he dismantled the start plugs from all the brothers’ cars.

Give E/L’s three hellions a few year to grow up, plus additional reinforcement by little Forðred, and they will not just scare off Orcs but any evil that might threaten Rohan. And the rest of the Rohirrim can stay home and put their feet up.

I want to know what happened in the 10 years in between!!! Sounds like the royal couple have their hands full, 5 kids, wow! I have 3 and they drive me batty!! Glad to read Amrothos finally settled down. Keep writing, gotta have more!

Author Reply: If you read attentively you will find several hints of what has happened over the past ten years to all the well-known characters.

Three kids yourself? A good average. My mother had four within six years and she somehow managed to stay sane, which – in retrospect - amazes her considerably.
