A Rohan Tapestry  by shirebound 179 Review(s)

So--Rohan needs new recipes, does it? Interesting! And Frodo and Sam refuse any further honors heaped on them. Yes, typical of them, I'd think.

And am so very glad Merry doesn't regret swearing his fealty to the Mark.

Now, indeed, to go home.

Lovely tae, Shirebound.

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner. Yes, it's time for our hobbits to finally head for home.

A hard parting. Not, perhaps, quite on the Arwen/Elrond level, but then they could all hope to meet again in the not too distant future. I'm sure the ... nutritional information ... will be of great benefit to the inhabitants of Edoras. And perhaps the hobbits have a duty to visit regularly to ensure that their teaching is reinforced.

So sad that their time together is ended, though - and that they will never really be together again. Although there is hope. At the moment, anyway ...

Author Reply: There is always hope, especially in the imaginations of fanfic writers.

Yes, the hobbits definitely felt duty-bound to impart all the ... nutritional information ... possible. :D

I feel sad and glad at the same time. Frodo and Aragorn had to suspect that they would never see each other again. But the joy of returning to Rivendell to see Bilbo must have tempered the sorrow for Frodo. This was a beautiful story from start to finish. Thank you so much!

Author Reply: There's so much loss -- and so many goodbyes -- in the larger Tale, I'm just compelled to lighten the mood anywhere possible. Thank goodness for hobbits. I'm very happy you enjoyed this.

That was lovley! I enjoyed all of it. The recipes were a very cute touch. I imagine that Hobbits have tons of great recipes. Thank you for a very enjoyable read!

Author Reply: I'm so happy you enjoyed this. Even in chapter 1 the hobbits were dismayed by the lack of (cook)books in Rohan, and they were just compelled to help out a little. :D

A good ending, my dear friend!

I don't know if I read the other two stories you mention - I'll have to check it out ;-)

Author Reply: Thank you, Pearl. It's always strange to write "The End"!

“I had to ask one more time,”

Wonderful ending, Shirebound!
The hobbits will miss their Strider and he will miss them!

Like Aragorn Frodo did not expect agreement to his suggestion. But they had to try ;-)

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea. I imagine that Frodo and Sam were offered titles, honors, and everything else the King could think of, but apparently they didn't accept them. It was fun to explore that a little.

That was just lovely! *happy sigh*

Author Reply: Thank you so much. :D

Ah! Now that was a satisfying farewell to Aragorn. I always feel Tolkien short changes us a little!

Author Reply: I completely agree about that. Yay for fanfic, and our opportunities to fill in the gaps!

What a sweet and fitting conclusion to this tale. Of course Merry and Pippin wouldn't leave Frodo now!! Silly Baggins, indeed :)

Author Reply: Thank you.

I think that such a conversation must have taken place, especially since it really is out of the way to go back to the Shire by way of Rivendell.

What a lovely ending!

better dressed, indeed! That Pippin is a rascal and always will be.

Author Reply: And we do love our rascally hobbits! Thank you, Lily.
