I truly enjoyed this glimpse of three-year-old Frodo. He was such a sweetie. Your explanation of Drogo's financial situation was very interesting and quite plausible. I love Bilbo in this story. It's wonderful to think that he had made provisions for Frodo even before adopting him.

"It's fwree!" Frodo proudly held up three fingers, "Like me – I'm fwree now!" *gets warm fuzzies* I like the way the little hobbits talk. So entertaining, and so realistic I can hear their li'l voices! Besides the fact that this is a well-written tale about little blue-eyed Frodo, my favorite, ;) I like seeing Frodo's parents interact with Bilbo. And of course who could not like the contrast of Frodo peacmaking with the little Gamgee's more violent battling? ;-D Wonderful.

"Cousin Bilbo! You brung me elfs for my birfday!" Again, delightful. I hope they got rid of the horrrid plant right away. it's true that the other three hobbits would have heard stories and tales from Biblbo about his fantastic adventures, but this has got me thinking that perhaps Pip could believe easiest, having so many encouragments. 'Course, being visited by "elfs" wouldn't hurt, either. ;) This series was a grand idea! Each was different enough to be interesting. Cozy slippers to writer and beta-reader!

"The insistent childish voice was accompanied by a sharp rapping on the door; followed by the door opening and then a sharp rapping on Bilbo's head." This one made me laugh out loud. What a delightful little tale. Poor lil' Merry, trying to be so generous! And poor Bilbo. I know how it feels to innocently suggest something that young ones take entirely the wrong way. I wonder if the bit of deception on Bilbo's part was an influencing factor in Merry's later schemes...

This is sweet and very fitting. It makes perfect sense than Hamfast would not take right away to book learning, but gives in when he realizes it's not just for gentlehobbits. I love how little Sam is respectful and cheery, even when his present is taken away. The writing is wonderful, the dialogue delightful. I enjoyed it very much!

I loved all these chapters - so sweet to see our favourite hobbits as little ones. I liked the foreshadowing too, with little Frodo putting the elf and dwarf on the same horse! The Gamgees were wonderful and young Merry and Pippin so cute I want to take them home! Saradoc ranting and Rory full of admiration for the 'ship off the old block' made me roll up!

*sniffles* This is the sweetest thing! I just love how you write baby Frodo, and getting Gamgees involved always makes me happy. What a lovely chapter. Can't wait to read the others... :)
