Aha! So somebody elde gets to utter the famous last words this time instead of leaving them to poor Theoden! Author Reply: Well, of course we have the advantage of hindsight. But I was imagnining this as only one or two days after the Council, when they really do not quite understand just what is going to be expected of them yet.

Yes, darkness comes, but it won't douse the Light of Hobbits. The tide has indeed turned. Author Reply: No, just as when Merry and Pippin's arrival in Fangorn triggered major events, Pippin's arrival at Minas Tirith did the same.

Alas, but I can see this happening all too easily. No, Sam's words wouldn't help much, I fear. Author Reply: No, I am quite sure that over the course of those first few weeks home, he found himself saying them all too often, and knowing all the same that they were fruitless.

Aw . . . Frodo did have an awful shock when they got home, and one knows he would feel it was his fault, even though it wasn't. Wonderful to say so much in so few words! Beautiful!! Author Reply: Yes, unfortunately after the job the Ring did on Frodo, his poor conscience was totally oversensitive--he tended to think *everything* was his fault.

A wonderful gap filler, Dreamflower! Indeed, Boromir would be most proud! Author Reply: I've always wondered just how Pippin came by armor and livery only a day after Denethor gives the order. I did like the movie-verse explanation, so I kind of adapted it to here. I am sure that if Boromir could have seen Pippin, he'd have just been bursting with pride.

This one gave me shivers. A good thing those lads had no idea - though they would have gone even if they had. Author Reply: Yes, it was good, and yes--they would have. It would not be very long before they begin to understand, but right now they still don't quite realize what will be expected of them.

Those hobbits! Sam and Rosie raised their first born well :-) Author Reply: They did, didn't they? *grin*

Our dear Pippin is indeed a ball of energy and a cup of good cheer! I also like to imagine that Pippin gained a lot of well-earned respect for his friendship with Boromir. I've enjoyed all three wonderful stories - now to await the rest of the alphabet. :-) PF Author Reply: I am quite sure that he did--Boromir was beloved by the City, and knowing Pippin was his friend would make a huge impression. I hope all the prompts are going to inspire me! *crosses fingers!*

Oh, I love this! The men's conversation about Pippin, Pippin wearing Faramir's old livery, Pippin just being dear, sweet Pippin, the inclusion of Boromir--love it, love it! :) Beautifully done! God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: He is a "dear, sweet Pippin", isn't he?

Wow...and we know better regarding those two young hobbits. You write these sweet drabbles so very well! PF Author Reply: Yes, and they are going to know better themselves before long, but right now they still don't quite understand all the danger yet...
