The Abduction of Éomer, King of Rohan  by Lialathuveril 103 Review(s)

Oh I love this story!! She poisoned her brothers wine, attempts to kidnap him and now we find out that she has burned his boat in the past! Excellent! I like this girl! Horrible spot to stop at though, why'd he freeze? Did he hear something or did it occur to him he'd already crossed her and she just doesn't know it yet?

Author Reply: Hello hell_kat,
I agree this Lothiriel has turned out rather wild, but then that's the kind of woman it takes to abduct a king. As for why he froze, yes, it dawned on him that he has already crossed her and perhaps he should worry about what she'll do to him when the truth comes out ;-)

Utterly delightful! I laughed out loud at times and it is always fun knowing something the characters(Or rather Lothiriel) don't!

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
yes, I really enjoy playing with the different levels of knowledge in this piece. It's what makes writing this so much fun.

"Léona broke down with helpless laughter. “Remind me never to cross you!”

Then suddenly he sobered"

I guess that he is contemplating what will happen to him when she find out. She will be cross with him, no doubt. Well, he got a fair warning.

Wonderful chapter, waiting for more.

Thank you

Author Reply: Hello Fantasia,
yes, it's slowly dawning on Léona that he's got a tiger by the tail here! But like you said, he got fair warning, and also he's got nobody to blame but himself, really.

Eomer is so brave and clever. I can see they fancy each other but would never admit it. An exciting chapter.

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
you are of course right that they're warming to each other. Unfortunately a simple courier from Rohan is far beneath a Princess of Dol Amroth ;-)

Well, they are getting close, aren't they? She was very close to get caught for those ruffians. Luckily, she has Leona as bodyguard and for comfort too. I can't wait to see her reaction when she knows his true identity. Waiting for more...Thank you

Author Reply: Hello Fantasia,
yes, a couple of close escapes in this chapter! Maybe Léona's services will help to tip the scales in his favour when the truth (eventually...) comes out - or maybe not ;-)

Eww! Those men sounded like someone I wouldn't want to meet alone anywhere, Creepy! Yeah, Eomer to the rescue! (Oops I meant Leona)I feel for Lothy having no control over what happens to her I don't know if I could handle that. I am enjoying this adventure greatly almost wish I was along in the canoe. Hugs The Imp

Author Reply: Hello Imp,
no, I wouldn't want to meet those men down a dark alley either. Good thing she abducted a suitably threatening man to take on her adventure ;-)

And a river journey like that would be quite nice, wouldn't it. I think there's something very soothing about slowly flowing water - perhaps even Léona will learn to relax eventually.

It seems to me that Leona is enjoying the outing a lot, despite the discomfort. I almost don't want them to reach Minas Tirith at this rate, even if I'm wondering how Lothy's family, Aragorn and the Rohirrim are taking this back in Cormallen.

Author Reply: Hello Whitewave,
I think the 'outing' must be a nice change from the mounting pressures of his position, so it's quite likely he's enjoying it. As for what's going on in Cormallen, that won't come out for a while, but I'm sure Imrahil at least will be busy!

This is such a fun story! I'm really enjoying it, you paint very vivid pictures of both the landscape they're traveling through and the characters and what they're 'traveling through'. :)

Author Reply: Hello Radbooks,
I had (and am having) lots of fun writing this, too. And I live about half an hour's drive from the Rhine, so we sometimes go for walks along there. That's the kind of river I picture in my mind, only mostly untouched by man.

Ah, I can see she is beginning to fancy him! Eagerly awaiting more!

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
like she said, maybe she's abducted the right man ;-) And I'm already working on the next chapter, so it shouldn't be too long.

Again, many thanks for reviewing and I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the story as well!

Well Eomer has made certain no one else would want to marry her as in those days she would be considered "ruined" after a night however innocent with a man. I expect her cooking skills are making him think she's make a good wife after all. I like the way Eomer tells the truth without revealing who he is!

Author Reply: Hi Linda,
well, Lothiriel still thinks she can get away with it by having Léona disappear before they reach the Harlond - however, her brilliant plans have misfired before ;-)

And as I see it, they might not necessarily have the same rigid morals in Middle Earth as in medieval times in Europe, so while it would certainly be scandalous for her to travel down the river 'on her own', when all is said and done she's still the Princess of Dol Amroth. So maybe after lying low for a bit she might still make an advantageous marriage. Not that she cares when she's in a temper!

And if all else fails she can hire on as a cook ;-)
