Eclectic Whimsies  by Ellie 68 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 13 on 9/10/2011
Ooh--quite the twist on the previous one! Melkor's ghastly twisting of Eru's work and children, looking to devour one's forebears, as it were. Chilling!

Author Reply: Yes, it was pretty ghastly.

Alas--famous last words and all that. How joyful the day and how mistaken the image for the future. Even in Aman there is no promise of eternal bliss.

Author Reply: That was a hard lesson for the Elves to learn, I'm sure.

What a lovely story. It warms my heart to imagine Ents playing and having such a joyful time. I know that the wee folk appreciate their labors.

Author Reply: It is fun imagining Ents doing something like this. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I did wonder if the 'wee folk' mentioned were Hobbits, but I can handle fairies!

Lynda

Author Reply: The wee folk could have been Humans or even Elves for that matter.

I haven't actually thought about what would have been on the menu at Orcish feasts! This is a delightfully gruesome ficlet!

Author Reply: I'm glad you "enjoyed" it. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

And I still love this, and particularly Thranduil's thoughts on Gimli's cheek! Heh! Delightful!

Author Reply: Thank you so very much! I'm pleased you still enjoy it! This was so much fun to write.

What a joyous time, untainted and undimmed by grief or darkness. Nicely done.

Author Reply: Thanks!

It certainly was joyous. Too bad it had to be spoiled by Morgoth eventually. He seems to get his nasty hands into everything.

*dies laughing* Oh, this is great. A wonderful way to brighten my morning before I head out of town. :) I recommended this (and the rest of the Eclectic Whimsies series) to my friend Susana, by the way. :) I was kept guessing until the end...I didn't even pick up on the Elven connections (well, I figured she was an Elf-clone, but I didn't get which one) I should've known, but you surprised me...really well done!

Oh, and I love your Thranduil. Thranduil's my favorite Tolkien character (and my second favorite is tied between Galadriel and Glorfindel, as you may be able to tell :) )

Eru's blessings
