"Getting rid of Dannenion might indeed be possible" That is the best solution, place a spider under his bed and bye-bye...really, what a mess, Romeo and Juliet fell short with these two.

Maidhien will be such a great addition to the Royal Family; she is a formidable and loyal elleth. I'm impressed with Galithil maturity, is a far cry for those wild years before his parents dead. He will be, without doubt, a great asset in Thranduil court.

Thranduil's fury in the court room, with Legolas guards, was very well done; I was able to feel it, Poor Tulus and Colloth. And poor Legolas, so clueless and in so much trouble, it certainly seems that the whole Kingdom hates him!

Thanks Elliska.

P.S: Love Calderon de La Barca quote, another one appropriated to Galithil and Maidhien could be "y los sueños, sueños son"(Ok, I have no idea how to translate that to English) Right now, everything seems a dream for those two.

Author Reply: LOL! I bet Thranduil would love your solution. It's a lot easier and faster. Maidhien is going to be a good addition indeed, as you will see. Poor Legolas indeed. He is miserable.

And I totally wish I'd thought of "y los sueños, sueños son"! You are right that is perfect. It doesn't sound as nice in English as it does in Spanish though.

Thanks so much for the reviews! Sorry it took me so long to reply this week. It has been insanely busy.

I forgot to say, "Yes, Legolas, girls talk." One time I was talking to a friend who'd told her husband something about a third friend's married sex life. He said, "How would you even know that?" And the friend I was talking to said, "She told me." He was rocked back on his heels. Girls/women tell one another pretty much everything.

Also, I thought it was funny that Thranduil has no trouble being firm with Galithil, only the weeping Maidhien.

Author Reply: ROTFL! Boys/men must be so shocked to find out how woman talk. It is so funny.

And I'm glad you liked Thranduil with Maidhien. I can so see Thranduil completely undone by a daughter. :-)

again a very gripping chapter. I feel so sorry for Galithil and the more so for Maidhien and I´m looking forward how the meeting with the girl´s father will play out and how Thranduil will find a solution. I loved all your "interrupted journeys and this part is no exception. Very good story. I like it very much. Thank you. Lai

Author Reply: Thank you so much! Yes, Maidhien's situation is sad, with her father. And it will get worse before it gets better, poor thing. Thank's so much for the review. I appreciate it so much. Sorry to be so long in replying. My week has been ridiculously busy.

I know the young ones are in all sorts of distress here, but on finishing this chapter, my first thought was "Poor Thranduil!" LOL. He was just having a boring work day and all this landed in his lap--guards who apparently failed, including one who's been in a problems before; a bunch of squabbling and murderous and pregnant Men; a son who was obviously not where he should have been for reasons Thranduil probably doesn't want to think about; a treasonous subject demanding his daughter and Galithil's scalp; a nephew/foster son in a hopeless romance with a girl whose father is intent on sending her to live in extreme danger. I mean, how much worse could his day get?

Thranduil and his advisors did come up with what sounds like a pretty good solution for the Men though. Legolas made the right decision in taking them to his father.

While Legolas is going to have some 'splaining to do, I'm more worried about Tulus. If he's pays some big price for this escapade, then Legolas is really going to be sorry. I suppose he needs to learn that his guard has to take figurative arrows for him as well as literal ones, so Legolas better not put him in harm's way.

Author Reply: :-) I agree. In its original version the court scene was written in Thranduil's POV. I honestly liked it better that way, but I decided it had to be Legolas's POV, since this is his story ultimately. But yeah, Thranduil has to be wishing for some nice simple petitions at this point, poor guy!

And hopefully, the situation with Tulus has made Legolas feel plenty guilty. It should! But, yes, this has consequences later.

Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

Elliska, this is quite a soap opera! how many cross lover are there!

Poor Legoals, he won't have a chance to enjoy a first kiss. He will have such a reprimend for his Father, and his guard for leaving without escort that it will be long before he can have a private moment for a kiss.

Author Reply: LOL. A soap opera indeed. And it's not over yet! It will get worse before it gets better (though I doubt Legolas will believe it gets better at all, poor thing). You're certainly right he's not getting that kiss. And he is in a world of trouble for sneaking off to get it in the first place. Poor Legolas!

Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate them so much!

Then he tensed, held his breath and looked at her closely, praying she would not think him overbold.

Apparently she did not.

LOLOL. No, she didn't. She was wondering if she was going to have to grab his ears and haul him down to kiss her because otherwise she'd be old before it happened.

I liked the way the man's hand shook, telling us that he wasn't comfortable threatening them. And what do you know, it's another young couple doing something their parents wouldn't approve of. Legolas's calm assurance, even when the older man aims at him, speaks well of his courage and his faith in his father's warriors.

The tangled affairs of the Laketown couple must really shock Legolas. They're so far from his experience. I was as startled as he was when the warriors looked to him for a decision. What a way to start taking on adult responsibility. And Legolas is sharp enough to understand the lieutenant's desire to help the young couple and use Legolas to do it.

Seriously, I think Aewen isn't a good match for a king's son. Poor thing. She's going to take this personally, especially since she just complained that Legolas never had time for her.

Author Reply: She was wondering if she was going to have to grab his ears and haul him down to kiss

ROTFL! Hilarious image, that one. I'm tempted to steal it--if it isn't cut, Maidhien is going to give Legolas a bit of a hard time in a later chapter and this sounds more like something she would say than what I have written. Awesome! :-) But Legolas has definitely lost his chance for now, hasn't he? But you're right, Aewen is no match for him, at least not yet. (In fact, again, if it doesn't get cut, Lindomiel is going to make exactly that comment in the last chapter--but fortunately not in Legolas's presence, since he is going to have enough to worry about then, without his mother adding to it).

I can't imagine what an elf, with their views on marriage and what constitutes a marriage, might think of the way some marriages must have been arranged in Mannish towns. That would be completely outside of their comprehension. And Legolas, being so obviously innocent about such things, is getting quite an education here. But the father's reaction isn't that far off from Dannenion's, and that will be food for thought for Galithil and Maidhien later.

Legolas is definitely learning the down side of authority here though. He has enjoyed the guards treating him in a privileged manner due to who he is for while now (like guards letting him have a horse or letting him into rooms when they would not let his cousins, even Galithil, do the same thing, as in the last story). Now he's seeing some times who he is is difficult/inconvenient too. Reality bites. ;-)

Thanks so much for the reviews, daw! I appreciate them so much!

Great chapter! Legolas the diplomat! :) I also have a feeling Legolas and Aewen are about to get into trouble! can't wait to read more

Author Reply: Legolas did well with the men, didn't he? ;-) But he will regret his later actions! Thanks so much for the reviews. I really appreciate them!

At last, i was able to seat and read and enjoy!

It's amusing that legols is suddenly about to turn into rule breaking elfling while Galithil is almost settled... He's found himself a hote headed elleth! That's kind of poetic justice.

I liked the moment when they stepped out of the forest into the grasslands, it was a shock to me almost as to them... wonderful touch, that! I'm so nejoying this, elliska, thank you!

Author Reply: Galithil is almost settled, but he will make a decision in the next chapter that is going to force Thranduil into action, which will be fun. Legolas is definitely about to get into a lot of trouble. Teenagers just don't think sometimes, poor kid!

I wish I could have spent more time on the grassland moment. That must be incredible when you are used to something so different.

Thanks so much for the review! I appreciate them so much!
