B2MeM 2011: Haradhrim Nights  by Mirach 113 Review(s)

Excellent! That tough Dunadan constitution works now to Aragorn's benefit. And Kadar likes him now? Of course! Honor calls to honor.

Author Reply: "Honor calls to honor" is a perfect summarization of what happened here. And pooor Aragorn... With all the stories and adventures we throw him in, he really needs that tough Dúnadan constitution to survive...

At least they came in time, and he was unable to keep Nazim's money. I'm rather proud of him, actually.

Author Reply: Are you? I'm glad then! I was quite fond of him since the beginning, but I couldn't show his true face until this late in the story.

Ah, so we come to the end of the journey? Or I suppose there should be one more prompt... either way, I'm sorry to see it come to an end but so very glad that Thorongil made a friend (and gained a horse!) at the end of all his travails. :) This has been quite a ride you took him on!

Author Reply: Yes, there is one more prompt today, but the story is almost over. I have been saving that one for the epilogue. About the horse I'm not sure if he will keep it for long. There is still Mordror on his way home... Is it said somewhere if he came to Lórien on feet or on a horse? For some reason I imagine him arriving there on feet, so in the better case he left the horse in Gondor before venturing to Mordor, and in the worse case something happened to the horse there... But the speculations are not relevant in this moment, I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Well well, might this be the beginning of an interesting, unusual friendship? We'll see... :)

Author Reply: Indeed! I just wish March would be longer, so I didn't have to fit that friendship just into one chapter...

Awwww... poor feverish Thorongil! I'm glad he had Kadar there to keep him cooled down until the fever finally broke. I think Aragorn will have a long journey ahead of him before he reaches full healing. Maybe that will give Kadar plenty of time to get to know... and like... him even better. :) Good chapter!

Author Reply: Now I wish March would be longer, to give me chance to explore their friendship more. But with today's prompt and only two chapters left, the next chapter must be enought...

Dear Mirach: This story was excellent, and I enjoyed reading it. I am very much impressed by the fact that each chapter was written in response to a prompt, and yet was still part of a continuing and coherent story. Poor Aragorn/Thorongil had quite an adventure! The plot was interesting, the cliffhangers of each chapter intriguing, and the writing very well done--very descriptive. You did a very creative job of writing in response to prompts. Thank you for writing and posting this story. Sincerely, Darkover

Author Reply: Thank you very much for the kind review! At the beginning I wasn't sure how it will work with the prompts, and if I'll be eble to incorporate each into the story, but it seems it worked quite well after all - some of them turned the story in a different direction as I intended, but enriched it with chapters that I wouldn't think of otherwise. But it is not over yet, March has 31 days, and so there are still 3 chapters left - so maybe it's too early to summarize yet =)

Kadar has just become my new favorite person. *g* I'm sooooo glad he saved Thorongil! You did a good job of working in the "letter" prompt, and now I hope that we get to see a little (or a lot!) of the "ccccc" that goes with all the "h/c". Here's keeping fingers crossed the next prompt cooperates!

Author Reply: I liked him since the beginning, but couldn't show that much of him yet ;) And I'm still one day behind, so the next prompt is already known - "Write a story or poem or create artwork where your character battles and overcomes their darkest hour." Cooperative? =)

Certainly that dream would be far more desirable than what he knew at the moment. But it appears Kadar has arrived, and Nazim has reason to be distracted....

Author Reply: Distracted yes, but will someone have the idea to put out the fire before it's too late?

Ooh, I had fun catching up with the chapters I'd missed! All very gripping, and for a while I thought perhaps Thorongil had finally gained the upper hand for good, but alas, what a mess he's in now! I can only hope those clangs and bangs he heard before losing consciousness was somehow someone coming to his rescue!

Author Reply: I can say someone was coming, but if it's to his rescue is questionable... The next chapter should be about a letter, no rescue in the prompt. So we will see today how a letter is involved in the present situation ;)

So, Nazim is in charge now, is he? And I find myself wondering what Khadar will do with him and his now reluctant followers.

Author Reply: Yes, Nazim used the situation for himself. And we will see Kadar in the next chapter already.
