Le hannon my dear! Sorry to be so late in replying here. Love that merry laugh down the hill. He's healing! How splendid. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :) *hugs*

Author Reply: Thanks! I like it when Frodo shows some spunk.

Hahaha. I was drawn in by the title... and then the inside of it wouldn't let me go.

Another story splendidly done! You made the building of a home-fortress into so light a matter, and flawlessly too! *grin* I enjoyed reading this very, very, very much. Finrod had the proper respect for teh Dwarves as well, and you showed it both quite delicately and vividly! I love your differentiating between how a Noldo finds a stone and how a Dwarf does so; so fitting and so... Elvish! (Singing, of course...)

And the questions that silly Elf asked--! Hahahahaha. -- Nono. I didn't mean to laugh at the concerns; they were perfectly sensical. Just... the way Finrod asked it, especially the last one. Precious! I would have given much just to see the poor Dwarf's expression on that...

You ended the story in an artfully-vague note. But now you tempted me to try to clarify it... What would Amarië like to avoid in going to Middle-earth?

Rey

Author Reply: The singing came from Legolas' reporting the stones' lament in Hollin, mourning the Elves' passing.

And I think the Dwarves must have been very forbearing with someone as... enthusiastic... as Finrod

My thoughts on Amarië were simply that Middle-earth was the equivalent of one gigantic garage for Finrod and that, instead of doing something useful like doing the dishes or taking out the trash, he spends all discussing sanitation with Dwarves! I have to wonder if (aside from the whole "Faithful") thing, part of why she didn't accompany him was because she knew that if he did, she'd no longer be the most important thing in his life.

Splendid! I cherish every sentence. And indeed, every sentence tickled me pink! Thank you very very very very much for this, Celeritas! *huggle* And happy birthday for you! Here's to the hope of many happy returns both in your birthday and throughout the year...

I cannot even begin to tell you which part(s) I like the most. I just love them all -- verily! It was as if watching a scene from ancient myth reenacted too, somehow, despite the light air and modern language... If I were there, I would laugh at and with the both of them that I would get in trouble faster than I could say "Sea!" Your descriptions of the two Maiar were quite fitting, and your word choice and arrangement just heightened the sense of humor herein. I never thought you would do it in humorous fashion, because I couldn't think of any humorous situation to be in, but now you did -- and it's the best gift ever!

It seems a bit wrong, though... You gave me a gift. How if I respond likewise? What do you want me to write? (I might slip that through your back door, so you won't ever know... ;) :)

All the same, thank you very much for the story; it's one of the best out there that I have ever read. :)

Hugs,
Rey

Author Reply: Oh, thanks so much!!

For me, the easiest way to write Osse in a positive light, without sacrificing his temper, was to show him in a different kind of passion--and I think that he and Uinen would be more likely, among the Maiar, to be romantic in that sort of way.

If you'd like to respond likewise, that's fine--but remember that among hobbits, we give presents on our birthdays and only receive them from very close relations.

I'll have to think about what specifically, though--if you don't receive an email from me, consider it a free response prompt.

I'm so very glad you liked your present! Part of what I like about doing this birthday challenge thing is that it gives me the opportunity to explore characters and situations I wouldn't have explored on my own!

That is brilliant, thank you. Roast boar over a slow fire...crackling mmmmmm! Oh wait! Small fire and quick halt. I can see Aragorn's problem.

Author Reply: Hah, yes! Maybe Gandalf will give them a slightly longer rest?

Haha!!!!!! Poor Faramir!

Author Reply: Well, Faramir didn't seem to be too put out by it all... at least, not yet...

*snrk*

(and I am jealous of a universe where some people are still alive who spoke an ancient language that has changed before it changed...)

Author Reply: (so am I!)

I don't remember you bringing it up explicity in another fic, but I like the idea from Boromir that in his land intrigue is always a negative thing. Now I'm thinking about Bilbo's behavior and the "conspiracy unmasked" and hobbit character. Are they particularly intrigue-prone, but in a good way?

Very interesting!

Author Reply: I don't think all hobbits are--they're generally too dull--but Tooks and part-Tooks? Certainly!

LOVE IT!

I don't what what I liked better, this line: “Things won’t be ‘well enough’ for Rosie till she’s married to Sam and pregnant by Sam, and you know it.” or the final one. :-)

Author Reply: Hee hee hee!
