Vairė Was a Weaver, or, Real Men Wear Corsets  by Celeritas 112 Review(s)

Faramir must be ready to strangle the Hobbit! Poor Faramir--this must be so difficult for both these noble men!

Author Reply: Fortunately for Merry, Faramir is a man of self-control.

The horror of it! Poor Faramir! A corset is not worn lightly! Heh!

Author Reply: Especially one that doesn't fit!!

Oh, dear! The wine lost? Too bad, this!

Author Reply: Yup, just another wrench in the works of the day...

No, let's not have any Hobbit light-skirts represented here! Heh! But what do Aragorn and Faramir think of their get-up?

Author Reply: Not that there are hobbit light-skirts (flirts, maybe, but these are *decent* folk, remember?) but it's still important not to sully a nonexistent reputation.

Excellent! Most excellent!

Author Reply: Thank you!

Frodo needed the laughter, and I'm so glad to see the ladies both laughing at the get-ups of Merry and Pippin! Bless them and their lack of foolish modesty.

Author Reply: *grin*

They are facing this *cold sober*? Of course the hobbits would, being so resistant to alcohol anyhow - but Aragorn and Faramir? The Ambassador? Oh my! Will the long day end with Someone turning water into wine? Will the Ambassador respect them in the morning for NOT blurring his mind? Do the Khandis consider pure snowmelt water to be a precious resource worthy of serving your most honored guests? (After all, they do come from desert lands.)

Author Reply: That's not all the alcohol in the city, just the royal stores. Have no fear on that account.

Ah! He so needed that! Yes, laughter is this time the best medicine! And I be the chief cook is a bear to live with at that time of the morning--but it was worth it to have Frodo laugh like that!

Author Reply: Oh, it was entirely worth it!!

And to have this as the memory he cannot escape is terrible! Poor Frodo!

Author Reply: It's not so much that he can't escape it, it's that he has to keep returning to it to do the story justice, only every time he tries he finds he can't write it down, so he waits, and then tries again...

CURTSIED!?!? And outside the door Merry & Pippen leaned against the wall and enjoyed the sound of Frodo's hilarity. I just BET that head cook was grumpy! Two foreign prince-lings in fancy dress invading HIS kitchen! Surely they have platters for Sam and themselves waiting in the hall?

Author Reply: I'm sure they did listen in! They might have been considerate enough to bring Sam a cold platter (after all, it's a while yet before dawn), but they've been promised refreshment upon their arrival at the Citadel.
