| LOL! So the Gamgee children have named their puppies after Dwarves, have they? That was a surprise I'm sure Gimli didn't anticipate! =) I'm so glad that Frodo Baggins was able to stay and enjoy watching Sam's children grow up. I know that Gimli is glad to see him and Sam again, and Merry and Pippin, too! Author Reply: It really is a joy to be able to imagine this life for Frodo, in which he's part of a large, happy family and is able to continue living in Bag End. And dear Gimli! He's learned, as Gandalf did before him, what amazing and surprising creatures hobbits are... and will always be. Thank you for your kind review. Kathy, will you give Dreamflower regards from me? | Shirebound, you always delight with your stories! It's like you have a viewing glass and can see into their world (which would make us all very envious!). Poor Arwen. She gained a great deal with her choice, but at times it must have hit her what she lost as well and that would be very hard when you have a perfect memory. I think she discounts what she brought to the world of Men in her lifetime, however. Doubtless she had some healing lore from her father and other gifts Tolkien never mentioned. I love Gimli. I can't wait to see what he has conjured up and how his visit to the Shire goes! Eagerly waiting for more.... Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words! I also think that Arwen would have brought incredible gifts and potential as Queen of the Reunited Kingdom. What a wise and compassionate co-ruler for our beloved healer-king. I'm so glad the Professor gave us glimpses Gimli's humor and affection when he was around 'his hobbits', and the depth of love he felt for his friends. It's a joy to write about it. | |
