| “I will miss you, Finbar,” Frodo choked. ME TOO ME TOO - I liked Finbar - but I understand that we must all let go of the ones we love sometimes. LOL I hope its to be continued, because it is too good a tale to end now. I am going back to re-read certain parts that I liked before just to get my angst kick for the day. Thanks for sharing your talent. I like how you are writing Gandalf, I have to do that yet in my story and it scares me silly more than any other character. Waiting for more always. | Poor Frodo, having to leave a new friend! But at least he's got Gandalf and I can't wait to see what will happen when he sees Bilbo - and Merry - again. That'll be interesting to say the least. | I finally got around to reading this new chapter! I've been so busy with study, that I'm only just catching up on all my fave story updates from last week. I really hope my favourite little Brandybuck isn't going to get himself into *more* trouble by stowing away with the searchers! Poor Merry. And the meeting between Gandalf, Finbar and Frodo was an interesting one. I loved the way that you've built up the tension in this chapter. I'm really glad that I *know* everything will work out in the end, otherwise, this story would be making me so much more upset! | As if Merry wasn't in enough trouble already! Honestly, he won't be able to sit down for a month when his parents find out. I can't wait for when he and Frodo see each other again! I'm sure that will be worth the wait. And as for Frodo lying to a wizard? Stubborn or not, I can't believe he would outright lie like that when he knew who Gandalf was. But then again, I doubt he can even guess at Gandalf's ability to read memories...so I'll give you that. He just might believe he could get away with it. Silly Baggins, he's in for it now! That's for sure! Keep it coming! Author Reply: Yes. Frodo might know Gandalf but he hasn't known all about him. I guess the journey with the wizard will be some kind of a trial for him. | So glad to see more of this. I have missed Finbar and I have been wondering what would happen next. I am so glad that Gandlaf has arrived, but now I am worried about Merry! Hope there is more soon. | Dear Iorhael, I am torn in two places - part of me wants to have Frodo return to Bilbo who is so distraught over him missing. But then the other half of me wants him to stay with Finbar forever. Maybe we could have two rangers in the Fellowship - (slinks away before anybody comes after me with pitch forks for that suggestion - not meant to be a serious one.) | Hi Iorhael, I loved the sadness and loss of Bilbo for Frodo. And Gandalf was great in this and his reassurance and comfort of a dear old friend. I really liked how Finbar just picked up Frodo outside the house in concern that he was ill again. And I loved Frodo's complaint that he was alright. I have said it before, but I will again - I really like the Finbar character - so much love and kindness for our dear hobbit Frodo - who seems to need it in abundance from us all. LOL Still, Frodo could not help feeling sorry for himself, and for the another countless time in his life, rejected again. Yes, and Frodo often seems to feel sorry for himself - he almost needs a Sam in this chapter. Keep up the good work - onto the next chapter. JULES Author Reply: I hope Frodo wouldn't feel sorry for himself too long. I'm trying to portray him getting more mature in the next chapter, especially with all the experience he got. I'm always amazed at your comments. Really! | |
